Candice Robin D. , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.

I fell in love with words and art at a young age. I was never really skilled in painting or sculpting, but as a young child with a speech impediment & mental health condition, I wrote it all out. Writing in my diaries became my comfort, my therapy, and my gift!

Journaling continued to be a part of my adulthood. After battling life changing situations, I chose to write out and it became the Internationally Sold Self-Love Memoir, ‘Unfurled’ As I prepared for the book release during the 2020 Pandemic, I declared it as my first tool, registered as a LLC and the rest is history! The word, Unfurl, stuck with me and we operate as an Author, Book Coach, a Digital Marketing Manager, as well as a Mental Health Advocate. I was able to use my Marketing degree to express my love for art & words!

As we creep into Year 4, we have serviced over 25 businesses, sold over 2,000 books, held 3 consecutive Menatl Health Awareness Fundraisers, & hosted seminars & workshops all across Georgia & Alabama.

Candice Robin D. , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

My name is Robin D., the creator and owner of Unfurl. To unfurl is to be spread out from a rolled or folded state, in order to be open to the wind. The goal is to assist with the spread of a business’ brand recognition. Our mission is to display the vision of small businesses, digitally. Under this umbrella, we offer Social Media Marketing Management, Digital Marketing (the creation of email newsletters, press releases, etc), Book Coaching, and much more.
I’m a certified Self Lover, so pouring into an individual or groups are important. One of my proudest moments was when I formulated a fundraiser that paid for free counseling for individuals with no insurance or those with low incomes. It was a journey to find self-love. It took a proper diagnosis, therapy, and a closer relationship with God for me to get there. I described the ‘Unfurling Process’ in my book, “Unfurled: A Self-Love Memoir”. Paving the way to help others whether it’s mentally or with fulfilling their marketing needs mean everything to the brand and myself.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Authenticity sharing my real life experiences within my book and in speaking engagements combined with my work ethic & love for people really opened the door to a genuine connections with my market. People can sense when you love what you do compared to you trying to just earn money within a career.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?

I wish I knew more about the entrepreneurial process before jumping into the opportunity, out of pure passion. I funded the start up of Unfurl LLC, which is one of the biggest mistakes that I didn’t have to make. I gained access to resources in the field of available grants & separate business accounts after beginning.
