We were lucky to catch up with Candice McMillian recently and have shared our conversation below.
Candice, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
The idea for my book, Spirit Led Conversations: Deprogramming The Illusion, Grounding Into Power & Purpose, emerged from years of guiding myself and others through patterns hidden in the subconscious. I realized that many of the challenges we face are rooted in unexamined beliefs and I wanted to create a resource that could empower people to transform them. Writing the book became a natural extension of my work as a life path mentor. I believe that as each person steps into their authentic life purpose, the world shifts for the better, and I am dedicated to inspiring that kind of dynamic transformation.
Bringing the book to life was both an intuitive and disciplined process. I approached it like a creative project, breaking it into manageable pieces while allowing space for inspiration to guide me. Challenges like self-doubt or perfectionism came up, but I relied on the same methods I teach in my practice: introspection, alignment with purpose, and following what felt right in the moment. Completing the book was a milestone, but it’s also just one part of my larger mission: to develop meaningful projects that integrate imagination, practical spiritual guidance, and personal growth to help others fully step into their bona fide truth.
This book is just one of several purpose-driven initiatives I am bringing to life. My goal is to provide experiences and resources that help people step fully into their purpose and live more authentic, empowered lives.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve spent over sixteen years coaching and mentoring people across the country and internationally, working with both individuals and teams. Over the years, I’ve led personal development workshops and seminars for thousands of people, witnessing firsthand the resilience and beauty of the human spirit.
After the pandemic, I began to notice something deeper stirring in the collective. People weren’t just seeking success or clarity. They were yearning for real healing. That shift called me inward, and I began my spiritual journey under the guidance of the late Dr. Malidoma Patrice Somé, the Burkinabè shaman and renowned author whose teachings opened a new dimension of understanding for me.
In 2024, I realigned my work to reflect a new level of authenticity: integrating intuitive life path work and transformational writing as part of my life’s purpose. With a heart for truth and transformation, I create spaces where people can reconnect with their own essence. I believe everyone incarnated with a unique gift, mission, and purpose. My work is about helping each person take one step closer to discovering what that is for them and embodying it in a way that feels true and alive.
My book, Spirit Led Conversations, is both a mirror and a map. It offers wisdom and practical tools for reprogramming the subconscious and living in alignment with intuition and inner truth. Whether I’m writing, mentoring one-on-one, or leading workshops, my mission remains the same: to help people come home to themselves. For me, transformation isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering the person you were always meant to be.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
A few years ago, I was running a business that I truly believed reflected my purpose. From the outside, it looked successful but internally, I began to sense a quiet misalignment. It wasn’t about failure; it was about evolution. My calling was asking me to expand beyond what I had built and to express my purpose in a new way, one that felt more alive and soul-aligned.
Realigning my work in 2024 was both a leap of faith and an act of integrity. I had to release familiar structures, relationships, and an identity that once gave me security. There was grief in that process but also, grace. Because resilience, I’ve learned, isn’t about holding on. It’s about having the courage to listen when your soul whispers, “It’s time.”
That moment of truth became a turning point. It taught me that endings can be sacred and that our deepest resilience is found not in resistance, but in our willingness to evolve into what’s next.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely. My mission is to help people remember who they are beneath the layers of conditioning, fear, and expectation so that they can reconnect with the voice of their own spirit. I help people come home to themselves. Everything I create, whether it’s my writings, one-on-one mentoring, or workshop offerings, is anchored in that intention.
I believe that my work has a ripple effect that reaches far beyond the individual. When one person reclaims their purpose, it inspires others to do the same and that’s how collective world transformation begins.
What keeps me inspired is witnessing that moment when someone remembers their truth, when something clicks, and they see themselves clearly again. That’s the heartbeat of my work, and it’s what I hope my readers and clients feel when they engage with anything I create.
