We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Candice Hakimfar. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Candice below.
Candice, appreciate you joining us today. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
I am a mom, wife, and I was a full-time piano teacher until we purchased our home. I kept finding off market deals and referring my friends to other agents, until I remembered that I had taken my real estate license when I was 21 years old. I forgot because I never practiced real estate. When my husband, David and I went through the home buying process, I realized that I wanted something more fulfilling and exciting. Although I loved teaching piano, my strength is in connecting the dots and putting deals and buyers together. That is what led to the inception of Luxe Level Group(LLG). LLG is a premier boutique real estate firm that is service driven. LLG is not in the sales business, but in the service business. LLG strives on ethical business practices. Ever since its inception, LLG has sold over $32 million in homes. LLG has sold one of the priciest homes in Beverly Hills in 2023. The secret to success is focusing on off-market deals which create a deep sense of privacy for both parties.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
When I became an active realtor again after 12 years, the market was shifting. Many people discouraged me and told me that real estate prices would plummet. I realized that there is always a need for change, and there will always be people that are looking to buy and sell. Myra Nourmand, my mentor, mentions the reason most people sell in the four d’s- death, desire, divorce, and debt. I quickly realized that even though interest rates were rising, inflation was skyrocketing, and there was economic uncertainty, there is always a demand for homes. Real Estate is cyclical and no matter what, there will always be trying and turbulent times; I view those times as a time for growth and learning.
Having young children was also a learning curve. It was a balancing act trying to figure out motherhood, being a focused wife, and working. At one point, real estate started consuming my days and nights, and I knew I needed to make a change. I started observing the Sabbath and shutting down my phone, and my mind for 25 hours has been my savior. It really rejuvenates my mind and I contribute my success and my patience during the work week to observing Shabbat. I highly recommend for everyone to even shut their phone off regularly for any period of time. It will help you find peace and balance. I can also say that turning my phone off turns my brain on. I am most creative and think of unique ideas during my sabbatical. It also kickstarts my week and helps me look forward to the workweek.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Luxe Level Group is a full-service real estate firm. It’s a specialized boutique firm with a global network. We specialize in on and off-market deals.
LLG knows that the home-buying process can be stressful and competitive, and we strive to make the process as easy and fun as possible.
LLG conducts many off-market deals as off-market deals tend to be less stressful than on-market deals.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Patience and prayer. Sifting through the rubble is an essential quality in real estate.
There are lots of ways to be productive, but there are also many deals that end up not going anywhere.
You look at those as learning curves and stepping stones to get you to your next closing.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Pressure works the opposite way. Being honest with clients gets me a lot further than anything. If I don’t think that a home is the right fit for a client, I will openly say it. My long-term success will only be based on my clients long-term happiness.
I want to make sure everything is done cleanly and with integrity.
