We recently connected with Candice Goethe and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Candice thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you tell us a story about a time you failed?
Actually I do! Unfortunately, I have several, but I don’t have all day lol! Recently, I did everything I didn’t do the previous times, just to find out that I STILL missed a few things along the way. I failed by assuming it was as simple as getting an LLC, and not being fully educated in what it took to start up and maintain a business. With that came issues with finances, marketing, outsourcing, time management and more! I’m still learning, and taking time to ensure I don’t have these issues again. So far, I’m taking the approach of one day at a time, learning something new regularly and applying it properly. My winning day is coming!

Candice, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well, I started baking for fun in high school. I picked back up several years later after having my daughter. I really didn’t consider entrepreneurship until 2020. I started off baking and decorating cakes, then after falling ill in 2021, which affected my dominant hand, I focused on cupcakes only.
Fast forward, I fell in love with dessert shooters and mini tarts. That’s what I’ve been into over the last several months. My best sellers are banana pudding, cheesecake and strawberry shortcake. I still do cupcakes, just at my discretion.
Customer solutions and service would be something I’m most proud of when it comes to offering services. Ensuring I can provide my clients the best, no matter what, means everything to me.
Me truly loving what I do, is what I want everyone to know about me. Which means they’ll get my very best and lots of love. Every single time. All products are made with love.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Surprisingly, word of mouth still works wonders! It’s a mixture of social media, meeting people while out and about, vendor events and people just spreading the word.
I am definitely working towards building a better social media presence. One thing I’ve been doing is going live and interacting with followers while creating desserts. I’m looking forward to seeing how things grow over the next few months and years.

What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Not just yet, although I’m looking forward to getting there!
