We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Candi Cain. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Candi below.
Candi , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Taking a risk, so back in 2019, I was going through a really tough time after my mother passed away and I had to step away from my business. Then the world went on lock down. I had came up with a new game plan for my brand and decided with the help of my husband to sell my handmade hair growth oil. During the lock down, I took a really big risk to give away my hair growth oil for free to influencers to help me promote. After I revamped my website finally legalized my brand and got my LLC , I rebranded my IG, at this time so many people was selling “hair growth oil” so I had to show people I really make my from scratch. This was the best thing I ever did because know my hair growth oil is one of my BEST sellers. Not to mention, it’s named in honor of my mother.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hello My name is Candi!
I own a brand called Candi Cain Collection! My brand is all about beauty, and health because it goes hand and hand. I created my brand out of my passion for doing hair. I am a wife and mother of 3 wonderful children. What sets my brand apart from others is that I really try to connect with my customers and make sure they are happy! I came up with this name because it was my name after I got married, although I do not do hair as often anymore it still is a BIG part of my life, and I love seeing my customers in my brand.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
For me the most effective strategy is consistency, When I am consistent it is easier for me to obtain and reach the goals I want to reach. These last four years have been a struggle for me with staying consistent because I also have a job, and I have kids, and a husband while I am trying to turn my small business into a big business, it’s hard when it’s a women’s show. In the midst of this both my parents passed away in these last 4 years, so I have been struggling with grief but also trying to maintain my brand. I am being transparent when I say it is tough to be consistent, But I am also working on that part of me and my brand because I want to become a big successful brand.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
The most significant book I read to help me was “The Secret” and “Think and Grow Rich”. These books are all about helping you change your mindset and the things you say and think to yourself. You have to have a positive look business inst easy and it isn’t for the weak. I also listen to a lot of motivational people on YouTube and I follow brands that are successful so it can keep me motivated. I am a perfectionist when it comes to my brand and I want everything to be perfect but I remember listening to a live class with Grant Cardone and he was saying how he put a book out that had typos and things, so many people emailed him and let him know there were so many mistakes a grammar errors but he was like he didn’t mind that because people still understood what he was trying to say. Then he said everything doesn’t have to be perfect because life is not perfect and that still sticks with me. I have to learn so many things when it comes to graphics design etc, so when I am doing things for the brand I always ask the opinion of those close to me, because I know if I keep trying to fix things ill never post or ill never get anything done making sure it’s all perfect.
