Alright, Candace thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Parents can play a significant role in affecting how our lives and careers turn out – and so we think it’s important to look back and have conversations about what our parents did that affected us positive (or negatively) so that we can learn from the billions of experiences in each generation. What’s something you feel your parents did right that impacted you positively.

Growing up I always thought my parents were wealthy. My brother and I never wanted for anything. If we wanted something we had it simple as that. As long as we did as we were told and excelled in school the sky was the limit. My dad was military so he was very strict and my mom was a nutritionist. She was always so sweet and humble. I was the pain in the butt of the family. But even after all of that My parents never showed me that they were disappointed. Most importantly they never gave up on me. And that encouraged me to never give up. The same life lessons they instilled in me are the same lessons I use to raise my children. Now they think we are rich!

Candace , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

CandyGlam Creations was created in 2019. Growing up my mom had a hobby of decorating and designing for our church and some of her close friends. She never really took it on as a job but as something she would just do out of the kindness of her heart. As I got older I decided this is something that I would love to do and turned it into a full time job. CandyGlam Creations is an event planning business that provides Rental and Decor services for all events, we offer Courses and we have just added interior design. We do our best to provide our clients with excellent service and assure that they are apart of the event execution. We are known for making our clients dreams become a true reality. What sets me apart from other planners is that it’s not always about the money for me. It’s about seeing the smile on our clients faces when they see the outcome of the event that they put so much time and effort into finally come into place. I am very proud of how far we have come and all that is in store for us. And I just want everyone to know never give up on your dreams. It’s never too late to start. Just start. The only thing you have to lose is time.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?

My best source of new clients has definitely been social media. I get people who say they saw my work or saw it posted on someone else’s page. I also get a lot of referrals from Existing clients. But not thing I do know once a client always a client. When we do a bridal shower we end up doing the wedding, then the baby shower then the 1st birthday and anniversaries. It just keeps going and going.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

My clients helped build my reputation by getting to know me and by leaving reviews for the business. We get so many compliments about our service and we appreciate each and every one of our clients and future clients. We also love all the ones that are rooting for us as well.
