We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Camy Loréna. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Camy below.
Alright, Camy thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Culture Curated LA’s Mission has always been to bring people together of all different backgrounds and hometowns through common interests. It’s always been important to me for the people who relocate to California much like myself (mainly Los Angeles) to have an olive branch, a friend, or just somewhere unintimidating to meet similar people. Many of our peers move to LA with nothing or not having anyone to lean on but a California dream; but CCLA strives to always provide people with Curated Events and experience; that’ll leave you with a new network of friends and new memories. We believe ” With Love, we got you” is not just our motto, it’s everything we believe in. Culture Curated LA is the brand that has your best interests at heart no matter who you are; We provide the photo booth for memories, thank you gift bags to always extend our gratitude, and our undying support and promise to always keep our attendees in mind when we plan.

Camy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Originally From Chicago by way of Baltimore I moved to California, not really having a plan of what I wanted to make of my life. After living in various areas in the California are, I knew that LA was a major change for me, and I realized that once I finally moved to LA that many people were like myself; ambitious, determined yet not as sociable as we’d like to be. Not only was this during the height of the Covid 19 pandemic, but it was a time when I just moved; and wanted to be apart of something bigger than myself. Culture Curated LA was created for the dreamers, the go getters, and the leaders that work hard to reach new heights in their career. Networking can be hard, meeting people can be hard, we want to be a safe place for everyone. I’m most proud of the collaborations and vendors we’ve been able to work with so far in 2023; We have collaborated with our long time colleagues Live Life Love Entertainment and its Founder Maurice Williams. Weve been lucky enough to partner with Premiere Los Angeles and showcase live music as well.
We mostly want our readers to know that Culture Curated LA is best choice to put on any event, whether its a birthday celebration, music listening party or 420 friendly event, CCLA has got your back.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Starting Culture Curated LA, I thought everyone was like myself. I thought everyone in the event and nightlife industry, were willing to help or mentor me starting this journey. I had to unlearn that LA’s event industry was closely connected or welcoming with open arms. I quickly learned that this industry everyone has their own way of doing promotions, planning, marketing. There is no one way of making one’s event successful. Creating my own technique and sticking to the main goal of Culture Curated LA is what I had to learn for myself whenever I felt discouraged.
In today’s era, theres a lane for everyone; and all that you need is a plan a way to standout from everyone else.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
The earliest story that I can share bout resilience, comes from me searching for partners to help. I would be lying to you if I told you that I am a one woman show; I would never be able to pull of a successful event without the help of others, I have an incredible team and partners that are always willing to see an event’s vision through with me till the end. However, when I first began to make CCLA are real brand, I went everywhere telling my vision to anyone who’d listen and how I wanted their help. There were people who had troubling believing in me; I received concerns and even more doubts. But the people who stayed are now the co founding members of Culture Curated LA, who have never let me down; and now have more experience in the Event industry than when they started. If I got discouraged by every person who doubted me, I’d never get anything started off the ground. Believing in yourself is truly the answer for any tough issues that come along the journey.
