We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Camry Hardy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Camry , appreciate you joining us today. Can you recount a time when the advice you provided to a client was really spot on? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)
The best advice for a registered nurse aspiring to be an entrepreneur is to stay true to your “why” and let it guide each step of your journey. Nursing has already given you a powerful foundation: resilience, compassion, and an understanding of people’s needs. Use these strengths to carve out a business that not only serves others but also reflects your unique values.
1. Start with a Clear Vision: Know the purpose behind your business and who you want to help. Define your vision early, as it will guide you through challenges and help you stay focused on meaningful goals.
2. Balance Service and Self-Care: As nurses, we’re wired to give, but entrepreneurship requires you to fill your own cup too. Set boundaries, build routines that sustain you, and prioritize rest.
3. Invest in Learning: Business requires different skills than nursing alone, so dive into areas like marketing, finance, and leadership. Continuous learning will help you evolve with your business.
4. Leverage Your Network: Connect with others in nursing and entrepreneurship. Fellow nurses, mentors, and other entrepreneurs can be an incredible source of support, collaboration, and growth.
5. Embrace the Journey: Entrepreneurship is a path of growth and learning. Celebrate small wins, learn from setbacks, and be patient with the process.
Your experience as a nurse already positions you as a healer and helper, and now, as an entrepreneur, you have the chance to expand that impact in new, inspiring ways. Trust yourself, take it step by step, and remember—you’re building something that has the power to change lives, including your own.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am most proud of Season of Purpose’s ability to bring a true sense of community and purpose to the lives of our seniors. From the beginning, I envisioned a place where elderly individuals wouldn’t just receive care but would feel at home—valued, engaged, and connected to others. Every aspect of our facility is designed to make our residents feel like they belong, from personalized care plans that respect each person’s individuality to enriching activities that promote mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
The main things I want potential clients, families, and followers to know about Season of Purpose are our commitment to quality, respect, and holistic care. Unlike larger, more impersonal facilities, we maintain a close-knit environment where each resident is known and supported by dedicated, compassionate staff. Our wellness programs are carefully crafted to encourage independence while providing support as needed, allowing residents to live with dignity and fulfillment.
We also prioritize community connections. We collaborate with local healthcare providers and organizations to ensure our residents have access to excellent medical care, and we invite families and volunteers to engage with our residents, strengthening the bonds between generations. I want people to know that when they join Season of Purpose, they become part of a family that values integrity, respect, and compassion.
What sets our facility apart is this deep-rooted passion to go beyond traditional care. For us, it’s about fostering a fulfilling lifestyle that empowers our residents to embrace each season of life with joy and purpose. I am driven by my background as a nurse and my commitment to making a lasting, positive impact in my community, and I bring that same dedication to Season of Purpose every day.

Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
If I could go back, I would absolutely choose the same profession and path. Nursing has given me a foundation of compassion and care that is central to my work at Season of Purpose. This profession has shown me how deeply rewarding it is to make a difference in people’s lives, especially those who are often overlooked or in need of extra support.
Transitioning into residential assisted living has allowed me to bring that same dedication to a broader scope, creating a supportive community for seniors where they feel safe, respected, and engaged. While the journey hasn’t been without its challenges, it has given me the chance to blend my passion for healthcare with my entrepreneurial spirit. Every day, I’m reminded of the impact we’re making, and that’s what drives me to continue with this purpose-driven work.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
The story of meeting my business partner is truly special because it’s the story of my mother, who is also a dedicated nurse. I was born on her birthday, which feels symbolic of the deep connection we’ve always shared, not just personally but now professionally as well. Growing up, I watched her care for others selflessly, inspiring me to pursue nursing and eventually led us to join forces to create Season of Purpose.
The greatest gift she’s given me—beyond her love and mentorship—is the chance to build something lasting together, a business that’s not only helping others but creating a legacy of generational wealth for our family. Working alongside her to grow this business is a privilege, and every day I’m grateful for the foundation she’s helped me build. Together, we’re combining our shared passion for compassionate care with a vision that will impact our family and community for generations.
