Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Camilla Sacre-Dallerup. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Camilla thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
When I was at the top of my game as a professional ballroom dancer, traveling the world competing and hosting lectures and being part of the DWTS UK original cast (Strictly Come Dancing) I found myself empty inside, realizing that although I was finally living the life I had always dreamt of and worked towards, I had fallen out of love with the dancing, the one thing I had always loved, it was part of my identity I thought. So there I was. Everything I had ever worked for had happened, yet I felt empty and stuck, wishing I would fall back in love with it. I was finally seeing the results of all the hard work I had put into it all through my childhood and as a young adult. But I didn’t fall back in love instead, I had the constant voice and feeling to move on and start over doing what I really felt called to do which was helping others, using the tools I had used to become successful in my career but this time using these mind-tools to first find happiness and contentment within and then later share with others how they could do the same. The risk I took was leaving everything I knew behind, starting over without knowing where it would lead, re-educating myself and trusting that my intuition was guiding me through the uncomfortable. We all prefer when we are guided through comfortable feelings like love and joy, it’s way less fun when we are guided through the uncomfortable, but never the less we must know that feeling stuck, lost and confused is also a way that our intuition is guiding us, it’s a way it’s guiding us to take a different type of action. That, to me, was walking away from the career I knew and starting again. Not long after, I also decided that moving country was going to be part of my risk-taking, which took me from London to LA. This took a lot of planning and action steps, and as I’m writing this, we are ten years on, and I am happily living in California as a US citizen. Waking up every day to a job I love, doing hypnosis and coaching daily and running our wellness business and app ZENME. None of this would have happened without taking risks, and I truly believe, as I share daily with my clients, the universe supports us when we take courageous steps. I talk about the steps I took and tools I used to make some of this happen in my second book, Reinvent ME.

Camilla , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Camilla Sacre-Dallerup: A former professional dancer who shone on “Strictly Come Dancing” and “Dancing with the Stars” in the UK and NZ. Now a bestselling author, “It’s Not You, It’s Me,” “Reinvent ME,” & “Dream, Believe, Succeed”. Camilla Sacre-Dallerup is a Life Coach and Hypnotherapist specializing in subconscious work through hypnosis and meditation. Founder of the wellness business and meditation app Zenme, her deep guided meditations are celebrated, making her a beloved teacher on many meditation apps. Camilla’s rich past informs her transformative coaching, guiding you on a journey of inner harmony.
My way into becoming a life coach and hypnotherapist was sports; I have worked with sports psychologists, life coaches, hypnotherapists and energy coaches throughout my previous career as a professional dancer. I have tried and tested everything I teach myself and still very much believe in being a coach who walks the walk. The reason I am doing the job I do today is because I had a curiosity to see how the mind tools I had used to become successful in my career could also help me to become content and happy. And when they did, I couldn’t wait to share it with others and study to become a Life coach and Hypnotherapist.
I help my clients align their subconscious mind with their conscious mind
In my day-to-day business as a coach & hypnotherapist, I am passionate about working with the subconscious mind and helping my clients reprogram and realign the “software” and patterns that are running there to be in alignment with their conscious intentions and goals. The mind-body connection also plays a relevant part in this, and I therefore also work a lot with the 7 main Chakras. Any change we want to see outside of ourselves starts within. And no trophy I have ever won has ever made me feel better than helping another human navigate through the tough moments in life and see them get through it and flourish.
My business
I am the founder of the coaching business www.zenme.tv and the meditation app Zenme just recently launched.
Proud of
I am proud of myself for listening to my intuition and following what felt right to me and not what others thought I should do and for carrying on when I believed in something even when it seemed impossible to achieve.
However, I am most proud to know that my books and meditation courses support people when they need it the most. Going through challenges in life is tough enough and we can feel so alone in those moments so to know that people I sometimes haven’t even met can find comfort and support in something I shared and use the tools to feel better and move through the discomfort with a little more ease, that truly warms my heart.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
As I write about in my first book, Dream, Believe, Succeed, it took a lot of resilience to become a champion as a Professional ballroom dancer; Winning didn’t happen without fighting for it and losing, too. I am so glad to have been an athlete because it taught me to have discipline and resilience, which are both needed when you start and run a business. In many ways, I learned so much from being an athlete, which I still draw on today when coaching other athletes, business executives and CEO’s. Confidence, resilience and disciplined are built through the losing, though the stuff that doesn’t go your way. Those defining moments when you fall, and you choose to either stay down or get back up. I realised that I am no more disciplined than anyone else I have just made a choice I continue to make and that is to show up for whatever I have committed to, like my business and I show up even on days when I’m tired or don’t want to because as an athlete you learn quickly that even those rehearsals you almost skipped counted in the end. I have had a lot of no’s in my life but I never let them define me because I always chose to trust myself more than someone else. I remember when I was first looking for a publisher for my first book, and my agent had lost faith in us finding someone. The ones she had connected with wanted something else than what I was writing, and I was clear I was writing a self-help book. I decided not to feel defeated. Instead, I believed it simply hadn’t landed on the right desk with the right person who understood my vision, and I’m so happy I did because the next person it got in front of completely understood my vision, and she commissioned the book and later my other two books. If I hadn’t leaned into my resilient self at that moment, I would have given up and missed out on not just writing one book but three and maybe more to come.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Although we are a great team in life, I never thought my husband would end up being my business partner too but when the pandemic hit and I needed someone to run my business day to day so I could focus on showing up for my clients, he suggested he would step in and that he would really enjoy doing that and together we have grown the business and it’s been such a great surprise that we were meant to do this together. My husband has also reinvented himself and retrained so you never know the ripple effect our inward journeys have on the people around us.
