We recently connected with Camia Farr and have shared our conversation below.
Hi CAMIA, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a fun one – what’s something you believe that most people in your industry (or in general) disagree with?
At Camia Janine Co., we challenge the idea that you can find your people and thrive without ever leaving your hometown. I believe that sometimes, you do have to move—but not necessarily to New York, Atlanta, or any of the so-called “big” creative hubs.
There’s this pushback when I say this, especially from people who think success is about making the most of where you are. But my journey has shown me otherwise. Growth requires new environments, fresh perspectives, and sometimes, a complete reset. Staying in the same place that shaped you can also limit you—because the same people, mindsets, and expectations often keep you boxed in.
I learned this firsthand. I used to believe I could build everything I needed right where I was, that my tribe would naturally find me. But as I expanded my vision for Camia Janine Co., I realized I was waiting for a shift that was never going to happen unless I moved. It wasn’t about running away or chasing some over-glorified city life—it was about positioning myself in spaces that nurtured my creativity, challenged my thinking, and aligned with the energy I wanted to attract.
So no, I don’t think you have to go to NY or ATL to “make it.” But I do believe that sometimes, you have to leave behind what’s familiar to truly discover the people and opportunities meant for you.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Camia Janine Co. is not just a brand, it’s a disruptor in high fashion and avant-garde storytelling. Rooted in bold creativity, confidence, and a steady commitment to pushing boundaries, my work transforms the way people experience fashion, branding, and self-expression. From concept to execution, I curate luxury fashion experiences, style unapologetic trailblazers and craft narratives that command attention.
Inspired by the intersection of art, and couture, my journey began with jewelry making, upcycling and painting. Fusing those together births embellished statement pieces. Over time, I refined my craft, blending editorial styling, conceptual branding, and experience-driven design to create a signature aesthetic that is both timeless and stimulating.
Every project is a statement, a mood, and an experience. I provide high-fashion styling and exclusive access to upscale pieces for individuals who demand presence. Whether it’s for a photoshoot, red carpet event, brand campaign, or an unforgettable night out, my clients don’t just wear fashion—they embody it.
Camia Janine Co, The Stylist offers editorial-level, high-fashion wardrobe rentals and avant-garde ensembles that turn heads. Clients can select from a curated collection of statement pieces to rent for their next major moment, ensuring they always look effortlessly luxurious and unforgettable.
I believe what sets me apart is, I pull from the world’s most compelling artistic movements and designers to create work that’s both culturally rich and fashion-forward. I reject the ordinary, designing for those who live life on the cutting edge of fashion, business, and creative expression. Every look and concept is built on purpose a blend of high fashion aesthetics with intentional storytelling.
My first fashion show that was Avant Garde inspired by ‘The Nanny’ remains one of my most striking achievements. I had the opportunity to fuse nostalgia with cutting-edge couture, proving that fashion can be both fearless and familiar. I am also deeply proud of ‘Love Covers Me’, my initiative that empowers children to turn their creativity into business empires, building generational wealth through artistic expression.
I design, create, and curate for those who refuse to be predictable. Whether through high fashion, branding, or immersive experiences, my work is for the bold, the elite, and the ones unafraid to claim their space in the world.
You weren’t made to blend in—you were made to break molds! If you’re ready to redefine fashion and luxury on your own terms, let’s create something iconic!
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding part of being a creative is seeing people step into a version of themselves they didn’t even know existed. When I style someone or curate a look, it’s not just about clothes, it’s about confidence, transformation, and owning the moment.
There’s something powerful about watching someone put on a statement piece, stand in front of the camera, or walk into an event and instantly feel like they belong there. That shift, the way their posture changes, the way they glow, that’s what I live for.
Fashion isn’t just fabric; it’s storytelling, it’s energy, it’s a whole mood. Being the one who helps people express themselves in ways they never imagined, That’s EVERYTHING!
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Absolutely. My approach to business, creativity, and leadership has been deeply influenced by visionaries who dared to think differently, who saw beyond what existed and built what should exist. One of the biggest influences? Steve Jobs. His philosophy of innovation, simplicity, and obsession with excellence has shaped the way I approach Camia Janine Co.
Books like “Steve Jobs” by Walter Isaacson reinforced my belief that greatness isn’t about following trends, it’s about creating what people don’t even know they need yet. Jobs wasn’t just making products; he was building experiences. That’s exactly how I approach fashion, branding, and creative direction. It’s not just about styling a look, it’s about crafting an identity, setting a tone, shifting culture.
“The 22 Immutable Laws of Branding” by Al Ries & Laura Ries also channels my thinking. It solidified my understanding that a brand is more than a name or a logo, it’s a feeling, a reputation, an unshakable presence. Every decision I make at Camia Janine Co. is rooted in this idea: you don’t just build a brand, you build a movement.
I also lean into the energy of “The Alchemist” by Paulo Coelho, which reminds me that success isn’t about finding your purpose, it’s about having the courage to create it. Steve Jobs said it best: “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”
That’s the mindset behind everything I do. I don’t just follow the industry, I disrupt it.
