We were lucky to catch up with Camesha Gosha recently and have shared our conversation below.
Camesha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
To be successful, I think you have to be relentless about your goals and get comfortable with failure. Things don’t always take off on the first try. Sometimes they don’t take off at all. You have to re-frame failure and see it as feedback. It’s just showing you what didn’t work. Now the challenge is trying again and finding what does work. That’s not easy, but it can pay off.

Camesha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a married mom of two with a background working in television as a promo writer and producer. I pivoted in my career to stay home with my children and that led me to focus more on some of my own pursuits. I was already blogging but I decided to grow that into other things. Now I maintain two blogs, sell products and I recently launched a lifestyle newsletter that focuses on self-care. Self-care has always been a throughline in my writing as a blogger. Initially, it was focused on moms maintaining their identity outside of motherhood. Then it was motivating moms to pursue their dreams. Now my writing focuses on self-care and wellness. The newsletter is about prioritizing Progress Over Perfection. In a time where we are flooding with images of perfection the idea of the newsletter is to commit to being a better you every day and not seeking perfection but only being concerned with progress. That looks different for everyone.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of this creative journey has been the ability to own my ideas and create from a place of inspiration. Many of us create the things that need. We share the things we need to hear. Because of that, what is shared comes from an authentic place that connects with people. I love the connection I have with my audience. Their comments and their emails are a beautiful reminder to keep going.
The other rewarding aspect of being a creative is the beauty of taking a chance on myself.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Nothing has taught me more about the need to pivot than having my children. Things are constantly changing and you have to figure out a way to make it work. I learned these lessons in my career as a producer as well.
Beyond that, I’d say all I have done work-wise is pivot. From a mommy blog encouraging moms to hold on to their identity, to a blog motivating moms to chase their dreams to a blog encouraging women to focus on self-care and wellness as a part of their lifestyle. Most recently the launch of my lifestyle newsletter, P.O.P Society, that focuses on self-care. The connector in all of them has been self-care in some regard. The pivot has been getting that message across in different ways.
