Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cameron Moore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cameron, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
So I’ve definitely been able to put myself in better positions due to my creative career. I recently got brought into a studio to try and help with day to day bookings but with that I’ve been able to make money while also flexing my creativity muscles with clients new and old as well as pushing some of my biggest collaborators videos and media to a different level. It definitely wasn’t like that it’s very new and I’ve been working as a creative since in was in high school. I feel like a big difference would’ve been just me taking that risk to go to a more unconventional job like a studio

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
So my name is Fon Moore, I am a film and media director. I got into photography in high school and around graduation I moved to videography and directing. I do concert and event recaps for almost any and everyone, same goes for photoshoots and of course I direct music videos.
I feel like what sets me apart is that I’m genuinely going to try and work with artist no matter your budget or standing. I feel like people forget the art side and the joy that it’s supposed to bring all over a dollar sign. Don’t get me wrong money is needed to make videos shake but idk, you don’t need 100,000 to make something cool people will want to watch.
The truest thing I can say to that is the Miles video Jelani miller and I did for skaiwater. It was so simple and shot with one camera in like 2 hrs and we’re almost at 2 million views.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
Ok so imma answer this because people have nfts wrong even the people making them. So I feel like when we get into the times that everything is VR and “the meta verse” they’ll be useful because it’ll be like having a super rare avatar or like how police can see peoples faces on cctv or whatever. People buying them for ungodly amounts of money….stupid, Because when they really get put to use you spent all that money when you coulda just made your own avatar.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
The biggest thing I think we can do is genuinely support one another and not gatekeep and I am really big on artist having a real media team. That goes a super long way and actually allows people to connect on whatever you’re trying to put out. I don’t think you have to show everything but have some people around that can capture real genuine moments still and video wise.
