Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cameron Martin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cameron , appreciate you joining us today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?
The idea for Path & Purpose came to me actually, as a result of my spiritual awakening. Before I created my business, I was a high school business teacher. And I was on track to become a school principal and even a superintendent. But after I completed my coursework, I realized that I didn’t really feel aligned with that career anymore.
And I felt called to something bigger. That calling led me to apply for a PhD program in Leadership Studies at the university of San Diego. I was thinking that if I wanted to change how we understand and practice leadership, that might be best to study it from a deeper perspective. And so I moved out to San Diego and that period of time in my life was very challenging because in a matter of two weeks, everything I knew about my life changed. My workplace, a relationship, a graduate program, my living situation.
So many things shifted quickly.
And so, I wasn’t doing very well. When I moved to San Diego I felt very lost and confused spiritually. I now I know this was my “dark night of the soul”.
To help me through my transition, my sister suggested to me that I have an astrology reading. I thought that that might help me on my journey. I had tarot card readings in the past and psychic readings but I really didn’t know much about astrology. And so I booked the reading. And the first time I had an astrology reading, it completely changed my life. This woman is sitting across from me, reading my chart, telling me all kinds of things about who I am, why I’m here by soul’s purpose.
And I had never, before felt so seen in my life. That experience really awakened something within me and helped me to realize that I was on this planet for a deeply spiritual purpose. Well, I continued on my spiritual journey the following year, and the idea for my business came to me as a result of all of my inner work. I knew I was here on this planet to serve people and their spiritual awakenings to help them discover who they truly are at a soul level. And to help them live in alignment with their soul. And so that’s how Path and Purpose was born. And at the time at the beginning, I started, doing astrology readings and hosting astrology events.
And over time, by listening to my clients, my business formed into something more holistic. And now I really support people in living in alignment with their soul’s purpose by understanding their soul signature, helping them move through the blocks that they have to becoming their true selves, and fully aligning with their higher selves. And so it’s been a really interesting journey over time, how things have transformed and emerged It’s been a lot. And I’ve had to move through and truly it’s been an expression of my own spiritual journey.
The approach that I offer to people on their spiritual journey is unique because you can go to spiritual retreats or you can go to card readers or things like that to get guidance for a particular moment in time. But my work is really about supporting people and giving them the tools they need spiritually to always have a connection with their Higher Self. I use a variety of modalities for that.
It’s been a really interesting, organic, evolving story to get to Path and Purpose to where it is today.

Cameron , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I have a background in business education and school leadership, and I thought I would be a school leader, but when. Uh, I went through my spiritual awakening. I discovered that there was something more for me. And so now my work is really at the intersection of self discovery and spiritual growth and conscious leadership.
I wasn’t expecting to become an astrologer or a spiritual coach, but I learned quickly that I was very gifted at these things. After my first astrology reading, I was completely enamored. I wanted to know everything I could about astrology. I started reading any book., any YouTube video, any content I could get my hands on to learn. What this system was, and what I realized is that it is much more powerful than most people realize in their lives. Astrology has the potential to share with us, infinite information about who we are as beings, why we come to this planet, and the reason that we incarnate to begin with. And so for me, it was the discovery within myself and also this exploration of astrology that really pushed me to explore my spiritual gifts more deeply. And so. My company was really formed from this. And now today I offer Astrology Readings. Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique (QHHT) sessions which are past life-regressions and conversations with your Higher Self, and I offer 1:1 coaching to support people in living their soul’s purpose.
I am a keynote speaker also and I speak about leading from being.
I help my clients discover and live their soul’s purpose. What sets me apart from others is my wisdom and my approach.
For me, purpose is very much about aligning to a path. Our purpose can shift and change in life. I think a lot of people misconstrue the idea of living their soul’s purpose as one specific thing that they must be doing. And in reality, our souls come to this planet to learn many things and our purpose can evolve and change over time.
And so my approach is really about helping people to align with their ever unfolding path, where their purpose can emerge. And so my coaching is not about making sure my clients “do X,Y,Z and A”, and if they do these things, they”’ be living their purpose. That seems too limited a perspective for me.
My work really supports people in helping themselves align with their path, because I know from my own spiritual experience, if you have the tools. If you have the perspectives and you can implement them effectively, then, you’ll always have the ability to align with your higher self. You have the ability to align with your soul. And you won’t need a teacher to always do it for you.
And when you start to get messages…synchronicity…signs about where you should be putting your energy, then you can live the path to your purpose. Even if it’s emerging and changing, because it will change. You know, your purpose at age 22 could be very different from the way you enact your purpose at age 56. And yet both are important. And so what really sets me apart is that my focus is really on giving people the tools to always be aligned with their paths. I don’t coach people in a single session to realize, “oh my gosh, this is my purpose.”
My work is not a “get fixed quick” approach. My work is really about opening people up to many tools, many dimensions within themselves, so that they can feel aligned and take action that is aligned with their true soul signature.
The things that I’m most proud of with my work are my client’s awakening moments-those light bulb moments. When clients realize that they’ve been operating from some limiting belief that they hadn’t seen, or when they are given permission to step into their fullness for me. This is amazing.
I’m most proud of this. I work with clients from all walks of life, from many different professional backgrounds. And yet there is an Infinite truth within each of us. So, then if we just learn to tap into it and we allow that to express through us, it’s really, really beautiful. My work is really for people who are willing to do the deep digging, to know who they truly are. My work is for people who are on a spiritual journey already, but are feeling stuck. I work with spiritual seekers and conscious leaders to develop the deep awareness or the deep awakenings that they’re seeking within themselves.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
In order for me to be successful in my work, I’ve had to unlearn a lot of things that I learned about business, entrepreneurship and leadership. I started my career in business education and I taught for years inside of a model of traditional leadership that people think about as far as leaders exerting influence and power and control over others.
And yet my business required a completely different skill set that I really didn’t learn anywhere else. As a spiritual entrepreneur, the success of your business is very much connected to your own spiritual work. What I mean by this is the more you do your spiritual inner work, the more things show up in your external, in your business.
So if you’re trying to become a spiritual coach or a healer or a teacher in some way, you have to master the things within yourself first in order to attract the people that you can serve. And so I’ve had to learn a lot of things about self-worth along the way. I’ve had to learn a lot of things about standing in my truth and speaking my truth, but I also had to unlearn a lot of notions I had about entrepreneurship. For example, the idea that I had to create all these sorts of systems or spend all this kind of money in marketing or focusing my attention on, you know, some of the more traditional aspects of business. And what I’ve learned along the way is that I’ve been called to be a channel. To connect with the creation, the energetics of my business, that has been the biggest thing I’ve had to learn to do.
And my MBA program didn’t teach me that my PhD program didn’t teach me that. None of my business teachers taught me that. And so what I’ve learned along the way. As a spiritual entrepreneur, the success of your business is intricately linked to the success of your own inner work. So by releasing old patterns, old belief systems, and stepping into greater conscious awareness, you grow and your business grows. You can’t just try on flashy business models and “Facebook ad your way” to success. When you haven’t done your inner work, you’re going to get stuck. I’ve learned that the more of your inner work you are willing to do, the more magnetic you become to the right clients.
So these are things. Sort of the energetics of business, if you will. The energetics of a spiritual business, I’ve had to learn along the way. And it’s been kind of bumpy and a bit painful at times, of course. And I’ve had many days where I’m wondering what the heck I’m doing. And questioning a lot of things. I had to learn that it was important to let go of old business paradigms of all leadership paradigms and to trust my heart. Um, which is not something I learned in any of my business programs. However, this paradigm is something that I do teach now.
Now in my work, I help entrepreneurs to come into alignment with their purpose and to connect as a channel for their business entities. My work as a speaker is really all about helping people to connect consciously with the spiritual aspects of themselves and to truly connect with their inner being and to lead from a space of being rather than doing,
I’ve had to unlearn the programming in our society of doing, doing, doing to achieve and actually settle into being. To allow my energy to express itself. And to serve without unnecessary doing. We’re doing too much in our world and most entrepreneurs do too much. And when we return to our being, there’s much more power here, and this is part of my mission to share this message with others.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
One of the most important skills that I’ve learned as an entrepreneur is the skill of staying on your feet and to not attach too much to things the way things have to be so that you can pivot, when necessary. There are many times where I’ve created a new program or a new course or a different offering that doesn’t seem to land with my clients the way that I think it will and I have to pivot and change what I was doing.
There are times where I have engaged in marketing efforts that really weren’t the most aligned and I pivoted. There were times where I even hired people to support me in my work. And then that had to pivot. To be a successful entrepreneur, you must be willing to change. You must be willing to go with the flow and you must be willing to develop your skill of pivoting–which isn’t just changing direction for the sake of changing direction.
Sometimes we just need to tweak what we’re doing. Sometimes we need to change everything entirely in order to find success. If you hold on too tightly and your ego is running your ship, then pivoting will be really difficult to do. But really as an entrepreneur you’re growing or changing. You’re learning to connect with the desires of your ideal clients and all of these things shift and change over time. What your business looked like yesterday may not be what it needs to look like five months from now.
And so when you are open to the fact that your business is going to change and evolve and grow, the moments of pivot become less uncomfortable over time. And especially if you’re working as a spiritual entrepreneur. As you shift and grow and change and heal yourself and develop your gifts and all of these things, it’s natural that your business would require you to pivot and to change because the frequency of your creation is changing. So I would say most of my time as an entrepreneur has been sort of filled with small pivots and big pivots.
It’s such an important skill to develop if you want to be a successful entrepreneur.
