Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cameron M. Williams . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cameron M. , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
One of my biggest risks to date was starting my first business venture (Get The Bread Clothing). I was 18 years old with no money to my name, no credit history & I was a freshman in college with NO experience running or being apart of any business. Many urged me not to start my clothing venture, including classmates, professors & even some of my friends. Long story short, I went for it. And I don’t regret my decision, because I made built many key relationships & learned important skills including sales, marketing & creative management. If i’m honest, I don’t know where’d i’d be now & what i’d be doing professionally if I didn’t put myself out there at 18 years old. Since then, i’ve had experiences in consumer goods & sales and built my network across the country.

Cameron M. , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Cameron M. Williams, an American entrepreneur, author & speaker with a knack for putting a smile on people’s faces. I wear a few different hats as you can tell, but everything I do is fulfilling to who I am & what I aim to accomplish. I started my entrepreneurial journey in 2022 via a streetwear brand as a college student with NO knowledge of HOW to run a business! I had plenty of drive, which turned into a desire to learn how to source the right products, how to market myself & how to find opportunities to vend my clothes. Since then, i’ve leaded a sales department in a startup company in Greensboro, NC that was recognized as one of the fastest growing brands in the Triad area in 2023.
2023 marked the beginning of my time as an author & speaker, with my book “20 Lessons in 20 Years” being published in October of 2023. My inspiration for sharing my message was realizing that many teenagers & young adults are trying to find who they are in life not knowing the capabilities & skills they have to offer to the world. I focus on motivating & advising various audiences through topics including men’s health, youth empowerment, learning how to destroy negative habits & learning how to BUILD & DEVELOP your confidence. Since publishing my first work, I have sold over 600 copies in paperback & ebook format. You may visit my personal website to purchase my books!
I want everyone who may view this to know that you don’t need to beat yourself up for not knowing everything. Having the courage to step into the unknown is a skill that many wish they had, but never work on developing. I am most proud of how I pushed myself to become better day in & day out by being willing to explore new ventures & be open minded. I have the opportunity to change my life, my family’s lives & the lives of millions across the planet, and that is something I will always be thankful for.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is knowing that I put out work & content that provides value to other people who listen. I have received countless messages, emails & phone calls about how parts of my messages inspired the audience or how a chapter of “20 Lessons in 20 Years” helped someone take action towards something they were putting off to a later date because of fear. At the end of the day, my mission is to help others achieve the results they seek, and being able to put out quality will always be the standard I have for myself & my team.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started building my personal brand by just posting pictures & videos of outfits that I used to wear. When I started my entrepreneurial journey, I had no idea what to post, who my target market was, how to run ads or how to grow an organic following. But I decided to take action by researching other content creators, speakers & entrepreneurs like Gary Vee, Dr. Eric Thomas & the legendary Les Brown. I started to find out how to get others to promote my content & how to format my content to be as shareable as possible, which wasn’t an overnight task for me. To this day, I still wonder from time to time about which posts will do better than others & reach the audience it was intended for.
My simple advice for any marketer, entrepreneur or creator is to JUST START POSTING. Even if it’s a motivational quote that you plugged into a canva template, find something that will make others feel a positive emotion & provide value. You never know who your posts could reach, so if you have something that you believe needs to be shared then SHARE IT. Over time, continue to research what content is being pushed out & what fits your brand’s message & purpose.
