Cameron, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
As a content creator my goal has been to always create a community of people that can talk about their love of films and I can talk about my love of films.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into the industry by posting TikTok’s as a hobby. But one viral video made me stick to it and continue on my journey as a content creator creator. It’s tricky, sometimes it’s rage fueling and feels like I’m not getting treated fairly. But I come back to it everyday because it’s what I love to do and I don’t want to give up on it.
I’m in school for filmmaking, just about to graduate. I’ve made a couple short films and my goal is to become a writer and director full time. But I don’t plan on stopping content creating because of it. I’m not just in this to get leverage on my career and then go away. I love connection, I love the thoughts we can share about film. It means so much to me.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I genuinely started this career as just a hobby at the beginning of covid. But then I had a viral video which got me super into the idea of spreading my opinions and creating a community. But I learned that not every video is going to be viral like that one, so it taught me to never give up and to just keep pushing forward anyway.
Have you ever had to pivot?
Well, I used to work at McDonalds for around 3 years. during most of that time I was also in my first years of college and I was working my content job. I loved working at McDonalds. It was frustrating from time to time, but I learned a lot of valuable lessons and skills that I use in my every day life now. I left officially around a year and a half ago to pursue this career of content creation as my full time Job. It’s been amazing, but the pivot was definitely a decision I sat on for a while, but it was a decision I’m so glad I made.
