Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Cameron Field. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Cameron, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
My Mum was a Gymnast her entire life. When I was young, she owned an academy that also offered Dance training. I remember being around the age of 7 or 8, trying a dance class for the first time and falling in love. I was the only boy, which meant of course I was the lead. That EXCITED me! I never wanted to stop. As I got older, I ended up transitioning to a bigger (& better) Performing Arts School that focused on working from a young age. I got the chance to work on my first professional job, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang The Musical, at the age of 12. I saw that pay check and was blown away. That exact moment taught me that anything is possible and if I love what I am doing then it will work out.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am an Australian Dancer, Creative and Performing Artist based in Los Angeles, California. I have been in the entertainment industry for as long as I can remember. I am professionally trained in many style of dance, includinJazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Ballet, Tap & more in between. To have versatility as a Dancer is extremely important in an industry that may seem ‘small’. My first professional job was a Musical in Sydney, Australia. From there I have had the opportunity to work in all streams of the industry, including Stage, TV & Film, Commercial, Live and more. I have a resume that I am extremely proud of, working with top professionals in the creative space. I had a featured Dance role on the Netflix show ‘That 90s Show’, Performed at Coachella Music Festival, Lead Dancer in Gap Spring Campaign featuring Parker Posey that was up in Times Square and many billboards Nationwide. I recently created a series on the Alo Moves platform that guides Dance workouts globally. I want to continue to inspire individuals all around the world to achieve those dreams. It’s possible.
I have built an audience of over 500k across social media platforms that are interested in following my journey. Through this following, relationships with top brands have been made such as Samsung, Sketchers, ALO, Saie Beauty, Lucky Brand and many more in between.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Most definitely my O1 Visa Process. I have always wanted to live and work in the United States and achieved this in 2022. It was the most rewarding day seeing that approval come through because it reminded me why I do what I do. Performing Artists around the world dream to make it out here and I will be so incredibly grateful for the rest of my life that I made it happen.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Growing up in Australia is a completely different world. Unfortunately the entertainment industry isn’t supported as much as it is around the world, particularly the United States. I want to prove to not only myself but family, friends and the people back home that it is possible to achieve those dreams if you put your everything towards it.
