We recently connected with Cameron Cottrell and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, thanks for joining us today. Have you been able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen? Was it like that from day one? If not, what were some of the major steps and milestones and do you think you could have sped up the process somehow knowing what you know now?
I haven’t been able to earn a full-time earning just yet, i understand its a process to get to that point but thats my goal is to do what i love full time, but i will not quit and i will continue to work my day job until then
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
First off i am a cancer survivor of 23 yrs, cancer free from Leukemia. I started my career out as an actor in Detroit, mi 5 years ago, I have been in 17 movies and 4 more coming soon, alot of my movies are on tubi and prime and some on YouTube. Also started modeling 3 years ago print modeling and runway modeling. I am also a brand ambassador for a few black owned products 1. STONE JUNGLE APPAREL, 2. LMV HEADPHONES 3. MONTE VISTA VODKA 4. PRIVE REVUX GLASSES & 5. THE COUNCIL CIGARS. One thing that separates me from everyone else is i move different
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I was in a celebrity basketball game here in Detroit, mi i tore my Achilles and while i was in the process of healing i filmed 2 movies. Wearing a boot and going thru therapy.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to become an A list actor and director. The 2 people i use for inspiration is 50 cent and TYLER PERRY
