We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Camen Moore a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Camen, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
The story of how I came up with up with the name was very hard at first. I didn’t want something super basic as ” Joe’s photography services(no offense to anyone named their business this name) or super complicated were customers would find it hard to remember or even to pronounce. It had to be something that had to stand out and that was symbolic. The name Zephyr or Zeff-err came to me when thinking of biblical references in the bible. A name that that isn’t really that known these days. A name that would be calming and relatable to my business motto. A name that summarize what we do and provide. The name Zephyr refers to one of the old gods that were worshipped before Jesus Christ. The name stood out because the name means gentle calming breeze. This meaning of this name had me in awestruck. The name was perfect.

Camen, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
In 2020 during the covid pandemic, I was a stay at home dad that was former disesel mechanic/ consumer electronic salesman. Me and My wife decided that she’d work and I’d take care of our house and kids. During this tenure of being a stay at dad, I had to think on how I could transform, and challenge myself. I had to think to myself, what were some fields/industries that were growing and that weren’t that super staurated. I scoured the pits of youtube and google for different fields. And there they were. 3D printing and Flying drones. I do 3D printing when I have time, but I haven’t made it an official business out of it yet… So, down the rabbitt whole that I went. I watched countless tutorials, Product videos, and so on,, In 2021 I became Part 107 certified and I bought my first drone: the DJI Mini 2 fly more combo. That thing was and is a beast for a drone especially for the price. After a few crashes and mastering how it worked, it was time for an upgrade. That upgrade was the DJI mavic 3 Classic. After that is now my DJI Mavic 3 Pro. My mission was simple for flying drones. I wanted to provide an aerial perspective when showcasing my photography and videography. I wanted my audience/customers to expirence that was like no other when I tell stories. To see a picture from ground level is great, however seeing above your house or building is and can be very special. We offer 3D tours and Drone Services, both involve telling compelling stories and evergrowing with new skills and technologies to learn. We believe art is art, and we’d love to bring your ideas to world and help express those ideas. An artbrush, camera, and drone are all tools, It’s how you utilize those tools is what really matters. What sets us apart, is our creative process and dedication to our clients. We want to keep the process as simple as a calming breeze.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me being a creative the most rewarding thing is to see people enjoying my artwork. The ohhhs and ahhhs when people learn from what a camera with wings and a little bit of editing can do. The greatest treat is when people say: You did that? Teaching others about how the technology that I operate on how it works.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
One thing that helps when I’m battling trials and tribulations, is that I can never give up. What happens when your working on a product or video and your into 100 hours and you give up. And maybe you needed 1 more hour to reach that goal. Don’t be afraid to take breaks and to allow yourself to decompress. If you’re always couped up in your room/studio all day, then take a 10min walk outside. A simple walk in the park can do wonders.
