We were lucky to catch up with Calis Finest recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Calis Finest , thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with talking about how you serve the underserved, because in our view this is one of the most important things the small business community does for society – by serving those who the giant corporations ignore, small business helps create a more inclusive and just world for all of us.

We have focused the last 4 years on helping to grow businesses run by people of color. Over 300 black owned businesses served. Gladly servicing the Areas of Los Angeles, Long Beach and Compton.

Est. 2019 on Accelerated Radio, Calis Finest is a platform for up and coming artists as well as a springboard for black owned businesses. Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?

I had to start learning to do the proper research to serve clients better. Some of my clients come from backgrounds that most Mainstream advertising would ignore. I thrive on helping those people. They deserve and opportunity to win.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?

Just plain old hustle and a winning mentality. Along with the support of all my wonderful clientele.
