We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Cajita Clarida a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Cajita, appreciate you joining us today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your business and how did you resolve those issues?

January 1, 2022 was a day that changed not only my life, but my business. I suffered a stroke, a blood clot was found on the right side of my brain which caused temporary paralysis, nerve damage and neuropathy issues on the left side of my body. I was hospitalized in the stroke unit for 21 days, then transferred to rehabilitation hospital for another 33 days and finally home to continue outpatient rehab therapy for another four months. I had to learn to walk again using assistive devices such as a rolling walker that I called “Loretta”. I made it clear to Loretta and everyone I came in contact with during this process that how they saw me was only temporary and I’d be walking on my own soon. Because of the neuropathy issues on my left side I wasnt able to take on any clients which was heartbreaking but I didnt give up. I pushed myself, prayed, and gradually learned how to operate in the state I was in. In doing so, I was able to start taking clients again before the year was out. With my mobile paint parties I began offering paint kits and it has been a huge success and a blessing. Soon after, I began doing weddings and parties again with assistance from hired staff and vendors. TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY, as of 2023 “Loretta” the rolling walker has been released from her duties and now if needed I use a quad cane and I’m back stronger than ever.

Cajita, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Eye Creations by Caj is not only a business but it is also a ministry which was established officially in 2019 out of obedience to the voice of God. All ministry is not in the four walls of a building or in the traditional pulpit setting. God has gifted us with different gifts that can be effective and therapeutic in our businesses which reach people in a way that brings them a much needed peace, release or breakthrough. And because of my heart for people, especially women and children, this is what our brand joyfully strives to give through all of our services. Our services include but are not limited to: mobile paint parties, licensed wedding officiant, wedding psalmist, wedding/party decorator and event planner. Whether it be through a hug, personal prayer, a personal touch on a centerpiece or just allowing the client to release it all on the canvas, we focus on making sure they don’t leave out the same way they came in. Eye Creations by Caj is very proud of all the healing, deliverance, and freedom that has taken place for our clients and we thoroughly enjoy all the testimonies from our clients and we greatly appreciate all those who return as well as all the numerous referrals we have received. The smiles on their faces after they have completed their personal art masterpiece or the smile on their face when the venue they entrusted to us to transform into their vision is revealed to them lets us know that the Lord is well pleased and we do it all FOR HIS GLORY!

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Social Media has definitely been the most effective strategy for growing my clientele. A free platform that is used the right way that sets no limits on how much you advertise, tag others, market, GO LIVE, or post is simply a blessing. in addition, word of mouth advertisement has always been majorly effective as well.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?

We keep in touch with our clients via email and mailing list. This has been an effective way to keep them up to date on upcoming events we may be having or apart of. We consistently offer monthly specials, packages and discounts which has been very successful. Eye Creations by Caj also make sure we are in the loop of what our clients may be apart of such as conferences, retreats or etc which we offer paint kit donations or baskets.
