We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Caitlyn Stephenson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Caitlyn, appreciate you joining us today. What’s the best advice you ever gave to a client? How did they benefit / what was the result? (Please note this response is for education/entertainment purposes only and shouldn’t be construed as advice for the reader)

I am so thankful to be in a career where I am transforming peoples skin, our skin is the largest organ apart of our body!

Since I specialize in corrective skincare I have many clients who come in with various skin conditions, and the one thing that I preach to all of my clients is that you’re more than your skin, you’re beautiful, you’re worthy and do not let whatever you’re dealing with be your whole story it’s only a chapter in your book!

I myself know how debilitating dealing with acne can be, I have Papulopustular Rosacea and have been to many dermatologists which resulted in endless different chemical burns.

My number one goal is to be a cheerleader throughout your WHOLE skincare journey, wether you’re dealing with Acne, Pigmentation, Scaring, Rosacea, Compromised skin etc.. you’re worthy and deserve to be the most confident version of yourself!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Hi! I am Caitlyn Stephenson I am 23 years old and the proud owner of Esthetics By Cati located in Lewiston NY, my mission is to provide safe, quality, Medical Results driven treatments, while enhancing your skins natural health and wellbeing!

Everything we do and everything we create is based on what we believe in, That helping others look beautiful is nice but helping them believe they are beautiful is life changing.

Happiness is contagious ,and with enough courage, creativity and optimism you actually can have your cake and eat it too.

I believe Self-love is the best love and strive to enhance the beauty and confidence in our clients one step at a time.

For those who may not know my I originally fell into skincare when I had to take care of my own skin, after being bullied by adults calling me “Sweaty Cheeks” and a surplus of other hurtful phrases and comments and failed attempts at the dermatologist I had to take matters into my own hands!

I drifted away from skincare once I got my skin under control and was focusing on my passion (at the time I was 14ys old!)
I am an Actress and have been on many streaming platforms, commercials & print jobs!

I was actually working on set of a popular streaming platform when I was offered an internship in the makeup department! This was HUGE for me, I was about to move cross country to LA but a couple weeks before I was planning on leaving my uncle went into cardiac arrest, and then covid happened….

I decided enroll in my local 9 month Esthetics School, to make a long story short… I did not enjoy doing makeup on other people at all…. but realized that I could do skincare?! Have a Career in Skincare?! I couldn’t believe it!

I graduated in October and 10 days after graduation 3 days before my 1st exam my uncle tragically passed away, he was always one of my biggest supporters and one of the reasons I didn’t move across the country to LA. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, even if the things that happen are tragic.

I didn’t study for my exam because I was mourning with my family, but I ended up passing my exams 1st try with no studying (and I am horrible at test taking!) I attended my uncles funeral, dealt with a lot of family drama and officially opened up my own practice a month after I graduated with full books.

It’s been a little over 2 years and I’ve outgrown my space 2x and I am currently hiring and expanding my practice!

Surrounding yourself in continuing education, successful minds and working endlessly led me to where I am! It did not come easy at all, but is so rewarding being able to transform peoples lives one treatment at a time! I am so thankful that everything panned out the way it did.

I know for a fact my uncle is up there rooting for me and supporting me every step of the way!

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?

100% being authentic and true to yourself, people can see through the fake. They can see through you trying to “sell” that is why Ethics is HUGE to me, I will never recommend or preform anything that you don’t need just to make an extra buck!

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

Being present on social media and being authentically myself!

I’m always learning and growing, and deliver results for every single client that I’ve treated!

Before and Afters are HUGE, if you don’t have any before and afters how do people know you can actually transform their skin? I’ve have people say that I don’t sell skincare, I sell results!

Working with my Virtual Clients from all over the world is so rewarding, because everyone can have access to the same ingredients. But the outcome might be different like baking a cake, Skincare is like a baker. You can mix the same ingredients like your co-baker but the outcome will be completely different.

You can achieve transformative results with just proper homecare, and a full routine doesn’t have the break the bank ($100-$200)
