We recently connected with Caitlin Turner and have shared our conversation below.
Caitlin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
I launched The Pour Tour after spending several years in my former career, where I gained invaluable experience scaling businesses, building teams and always making sure that our customers had an amazing experience. During that time, I developed a passion for creating memorable experiences through unique events, particularly those centered around cocktails and social gatherings. The idea for The Pour Tour came to me as I noticed a gap in the market for high-quality, tailored mobile bar services. I was at a point in my career where I felt ready to take a leap and turn my passion into a business. My background provided a strong foundation, and the timing felt right to pursue this new venture.
Starting The Pour Tour when I did was a decision influenced by my unique experiences and readiness at the time. While it’s easy to think that starting earlier could have brought success sooner, I believe the timing was right for me. The knowledge, skills, and network I had built up by the time I launched were crucial to getting the business off the ground successfully. In the end, every step leading up to starting my business played a role in shaping its direction, and I’m grateful for the journey.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Before starting The Pour Tour, my corporate career as a Vice President of Sales and Operations, equipped me with the skills and confidence to venture into the world of entrepreneurship. My passion for crafting unforgettable experiences led me to create The Pour Tour, a mobile bar service that adds a special touch to any event. We offer a range of services, including corporate and private events, as well as cocktail classes, catering to clients who want a personalized and upscale experience.
Our packages include The Pour Tour Classic, which offers beer and wine pours; The Pour Tour Signature, featuring 2 signature cocktails and a choice of satellite bars; and The Pour Tour Experience, which provides an elevated selection with 3 signature cocktails. What truly sets us apart is our attention to detail and our commitment to creating a unique experience tailored to each client’s needs. We don’t just serve drinks—we craft moments that guests will remember long after the event is over. Whether it’s a corporate gathering or an intimate private celebration, we take pride in delivering a service that reflects the style and vision of our clients

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Building a strong reputation with our clientele has been rooted in a few key principles. First and foremost, we prioritize exceptional customer service. From the initial consultation to the final pour at an event, we focus on understanding and exceeding our clients’ expectations. This commitment to personalized service has helped us build lasting relationships and a loyal client base.
Additionally, our attention to detail and consistency in delivering high-quality experiences have played a significant role. We understand that every event is unique, and we tailor our services to match the specific needs and style of each occasion. Whether it’s crafting custom cocktails, selecting the perfect bar setup, or providing professional bartenders who create a fun and engaging atmosphere, we ensure that every element is top-notch.
Word-of-mouth has also been incredibly powerful for us. Satisfied clients often recommend us to their friends, family, and colleagues, which has been instrumental in growing our business locally. We’ve also made sure to be present in the community, participating in local events and networking, which has further solidified our reputation.

How did you build your audience on social media?
My best advice to those starting to build their social media presence is to continue to post everyday! Don’t get discouraged if you feel as though you don’t have as many “likes” or “followers”— keep posting and taking pride in your work and your social media will grow!
