Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Caden Jackson . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Caden, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

When i was 4 years old, I used to have night terrors (really bad dreams). My mom would read me Psalms 23 every single night. One night after she read it to me, she asked me what does it mean to me. I said, it means that I am loved and protected. That night I stopped having night terrors and I was able to sleep in my own room. A few days later, I told my mom that God gave me a plan “to help kids that don’t have moms and dads and kids that need a little help.” Because I want everybody, not just kids, to feel loved and Protected, too. For the past 8 years, I have been working on my God plan. I have been doing givebacks to provide kids with Hats, Scarves, and Gloves to stay warm in the winter. Also, I wrote a book so other kids can read it and feel loved and protected too. I think the idea is good because not everybody does givebacks of Hats, scarf and gloves.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Caden Jackson, CEO, and Founder of the Loved and Protected Foundation. I help kids who don’t have moms and dads and kids that need a little help. (Kids in Foster Care, homeless, and those that need a little help). By giving them hats, scarves, and gloves during the winter. I got into my business because God gave me the plan to do what I am doing. I wrote a book, “Caden’s Prayers, The Little Boy Who Conquered Fear” this is the story of me conquering my nightmares. The funds raised by selling my book go towards my winter givebacks. I create products to help kids feel loved and protected, The Big O’ is dedicated to my grandpa, and it is a comfort pillow, also handmade bracelets that I and my cousins make that say “Loved and Protected” to remind kids so they feel loved and protected. My Aunt started a print business so she can help me create designs that say, Loved and Protected and Psalms 23. T-Shirts, Hoodies, Magnets, Keychains, mousepads, and coffee mugs. What I am most proud, a lot of kids that have read my book stopped having nightmares. Kids and adults that are in Fostercare, grew up or had family come to my events and tell me how they appreciate my message. That the message is growing and more kids and adults are learning that they are Loved and Protected. I say it all the time, whenever I asked what I want to say, “Remember that You are Loved and Protected”. Its a global message. Year-round I attend Young entrepreneur festivals, Partner with small businesses, and provide interviews to spread the message. We do pop-ups so that people know who I am and that my Godplan is helping a lot of people.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I started with advice from Coach Glenn P Brooks, Jr. “He told me to be consistent”. That is when I started WakeUp Wednesday, it is where I tell a tip about anything. It’s about 1 minute long and I show up every Wednesday except in the summer when I am on break. In Summertime, I show something that I am doing that is fun or a new activity my family explores. This is very fun and easy to do. We post the WakeUp Wednesday on my Instagram page and Facebook. I Don’t focus on the likes or comments. I just keep it simple and enjoy the process. My audience is slowly building. My tip is to be consistent and consistently show up live and with posts related to your brand and the message that you want to convey. Don’t focus too much on getting big numbers.

How’d you meet your business partner?

My Cofounders are my Mom and my Aunt. When I first realized that my Aunt was creating all my design ideas, it was a few years ago. I remember telling my aunt about an idea i had for a long sleeve t-shirt. I wanted the letters to be lowercase and i wanted the words of my foundation to be on the sleeves of my shirt. A few weeks later my Aunt create my design idea. She printed the exact idea that I shared but it was even better. I am amazed at how she created my ideas. I don’t draw them at all, she will be asked me a few questions, and then she goes away and creates. I love working with her. Today she has her own print business and is known as the “Vision Sponsor”. I can tell you that for the past 5 years she has been my Vision Sponsor! The family is my business partner, Mom and I have a business meeting when are in the drive-thru at Chic-fa-la. Is easy to talk with my mom about my ideas, she knows me the best and I told her about my Godplan when i was 4 years old. She believes in me and does a lot to help me with helping kids.
