C. Ebony, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

Creative Islander is a division of Island Touch Gifts & Baskets LLC. It’s an extension of myself and my culture. Being a Caribbean Islander, I wanted to incorporate a piece of who I am in the business. Which essentially becomes a great conversation starter about what Islander and therefore providing me the opportunity to talk about where i’m from and the business in one!

C. Ebony, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

About me, I am your go to for all your gifting needs. I was born and raised on the beautiful Caribbean island of Anguilla. I am also a US Army Vet, which I am proud to say I have served.

I am an Art enthusiast. My love for the art began when I was a child. I continued my love of art through my studies in various Art related fields . Art is beautiful and an experience. This concept is how I chose to shape my business to reflect the feeling of experiencing something beautiful.

Creative Islander is about “transforming the gifting experience!” Gifting should always be an experience between the giver and the recipient. Creating a special connection through the gift.

We specializes in Balloon Decor/Gifts & Backdrop Rental; Picnic Escapes for Dates, Celebrations & Kids Birthdays; Suite Celebrations; Corporate and Personal Gift Boxes & Baskets, and our hand-crafted Self and Health Care products.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

I think our drive to be involved with our community, being present and giving back has definitely helped build our reputation in the gifting field.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

We started our business in the community and online, which served us well, until opened a store front in 2022, in downtown Old Colorado City. We grew our customer base for two years and unfortunately we closed its doors January 2024 and re-transitioning back to an online based store.
