Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to C. Danny Lewis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
C. Danny, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I grew up in Music. My family was very musical and I had a realization of the emotional impact music could have from a very young age. My father was a guitar player and my Mother was a singer/dancer.
My Mother would encourage my singing and playing instruments from as early of an age as I can remember. As I progressed, even as I child, I figured out that there was potential in music to really make an emotional impact.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I followed a path in music all thru my schoolastic career. Playing instruments, singing, playing in bands, studying music theory or about how music was made. Even after graduating college with a music degree, I continued to absorb any knowledge I could in music. This led me to Nashville TN. I began to actually make money thru music . Traveled with Artists/bands and learned as much as I could from as many people in the business as I could. I continued to write and record music here as well.
And as my journey and knowledge in music progressed, I felt like I had more to offer the world. I wanted to share what I had learned with people .
Then one day, i had afriebd whi was managing a club, ask me if i new how to DJ. His DJ had quit last minute and he needed someone to play some songs for a party. I thought “how hard could that be” so i said yes. I was use to being on stage by that point, and comfortable on a microphone, and this way i got to pick the songs for people to listen and dance to, and I wasnt resticted to pnly the songs I, or the band knew how to play… i could share anything .
This opened up an entire new side quest for me . And just like my other avenues, i wanted to learn everything I could about the skill of DJing
This led me to brand new realms of music and music production. I used my knowledge as a musician to learn how to blend song and mix old songs with new productions and really show my love of all music to audiences.
As my skills in DJing grew, I began to get more and more oppurtunities to play for people in some of the best spots in Nashville which led to being able to play for people outside of Nashville as well .
My production skills also progressed and i began to edit a lot of the songs I would spin into more DJ friendly edits and be able to add to my song repertoire.
I started to study EDM music production, and would learn to mix coutry music or other genres with more of an electronic Dance music flavor.
This began my career as DJ C Danny Lewis .
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
As my music production grew and my DJ career began to catch hold, I still felt like there were more untapped opportunities around me . I decided to start my Company, Tsunami Entertainment, with two of my buddies and we began to hire and train DJs and musicians for parts of our team. This also explanded what we could offer customers as far as entertainment options. We began to build systems for karaoke that matched what a live band would use, and began to offer that as part of our party packages. We really enjoyed the talent rhe guests would being to the parties, and this gave us an option to use that talent as part of our shows.
We found that with rhe guys we hired and trained, and with rhe quality of sound and production, we could really corner the market on what we were offering and try to put ourselves in our own category. Opening growth possibilities immensely.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
In everything I’ve chosen to pursue, i wanted to be the best I could possibly be with it. I wanted to maintain a level of professionalism that was unmatched. And that has been the core mission in growing our business. Never sacrifice quality for quantity. – That quality is always first. Give people more than they expect, and they will always come back .
