We recently connected with Byson Burt and have shared our conversation below.
Byson, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us about a time that your work has been misunderstood? Why do you think it happened and did any interesting insights emerge from the experience?
Throughout my time as an independent Artist I have been miss understood for what I do as an Artist. Some believe that I just make all violent music, some believe I hat I will never go anywhere with my music because it’s “not good” or terrible, but I still continue to create music and to get others to see that I do create music that isn’t all violent or non – purposeful.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I RedTintedFaith aka Byson Burt am an independent Musical Artist who has been making music for about 2-3 years. My strongest belief is that music is not just something you listen to it’s a lifestyle. Creating music is a lifestyle most cannot turn away from once they are in it. Music is my everything and it has helped me get through the most toughest times of my life which is why I have been creating what I call art since then, it helps me cope with my inner and outer struggles.
Because I believe that music is a lifestyle I want my listeners and future listeners to feel a deeper connection with me when listening to my song. As if I’m physically there with them motivating them to keep going no matter what obstacles they face and for my potential listen, I want them to catch interest in my music because it’s a different type of music that you cannot find anywhere else, it’s RedTintedFaith music.
I am most proud of assisting my friends in starting their our music careers and being the one to push them to be the best musical artist they can be I want all my friends to succeed.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I was getting ready to drop “Old Rappa me Vs New Rappa me” I was really going through it. I had a cold, still in wrestling, and struggling to find time to record the songs to go with the EP that was supposed to drop soon. With my producer consistently asking me about when I was going to be done plus the other issues I previously mentioned I didn’t know how I was going to do all of this within the timeframe I had. So, one day I woke up at about 4pm and I was restless on a Saturday morning I decided to get up and record those songs, stack up on cold medicine, and get to work.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
When I first started to do what I do my main goal was to have a successful music career so I could get the fame but now, I do this so that I can one day buy a house for all my family members to live in so that I can take care of them. I love my people through it all, no matter what.
