Byron, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I is a visual artist and creative brand strategist with a unique eye on a culture. My talents have contributed to elevating and executing a number of media entities, strategies, and celebrity-based talent initiatives within music, television, film, wellness, and social justice. With over 15 years of experience within arts and entertainment, I’ve had the pleasure to of executing on major brand projects, collaborating with celebrity and influencer talent, annd impacting culture through engagement and narrative change.
As a creative, my passion for art, digital media, wellness, and running now shows up through Wellness For CreativesTM, which promotes mental health, burnout prevention, and holistic wellness. With a front row seat to their lifestyle, I produce events for creatives that educate and implement non-traditional, yet effective wellness strategies for executives, celebrities, and influencers using creative programming and activations.
As a professional, I continue to provide digital strategy with a focus on the intersection of entertainment and social good through creative and cultural marketing consulting for major brands and initiatives (Crown Act, Seize The Awkward, etc).
One of my most rewarding jobs has been serving as Head of Social Impact for The Shade Room (@theshaderoom), where I was responsible for the massive political initiative in 2020, social impact partnerships, and philanthropic giving. I’ve also previously managed press and/or social media initiatives at companies including BET Networks, Roc Nation, Color Of Change and American Black Film Festival.
A subject matter expert with insight into how influencers approach brand partnerships and a passion for intimately engaging with people through storytelling, I aim to promote a lifestyle filled with wellness and running through content development, brand partnerships and mental health awareness. Using partnerships and influencer engagement, I am capable of tapping into an audience of culturally progressive black millennials who value entertainment, fitness, holistic wellness — and what’s happening in the world around them.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I burned out while working in entertainment before I was 30.
At 30 I made a decision to leave California, move back to Virginia and focused on concierge personal training for influencers.
Training influencers opened up a new career avenue that led me back into corporate America to explore the intersection of influencer engagement and social impact within popular culture.
My work within social impact and wellness now shapes my art and my art helps shapes my wellness.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I truly believe that I pivot everyday as I live with bipolar II disorder.
My mood and productivity fluctuates so i check in with myself daily and pivot when necessary.
