Butta , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?

Hi everyone, my name is Butta B-Rocka, I am a highly versatile serial entrepreneur. I am an executive film producer, director, screenwriter, actress and top-charting internationally acclaimed recording artists.

I am a recording artist who has released several albums and singles that have been heard around the world. I have collaborated with some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Janet Jackson, Akon, TLC, Kanye West, NAS, Collective Soul, and Zac Brown.
I am an actress who has appeared in films, television shows, and on stage. My most notable credits include BET Hip Hop Awards, Fox’s Monarch, Family or Fiancé on Own Network, and the theater productions I Cheated So What, In Everything Trust God, and Love Me in Pieces.
I recently debuted as an executive producer, director, screenwriter, and lead actress in the romantic comedy “Finding the Perfect Guy is now available on Amazon’s Prime Video and on Tubi. “, that is now available on Amazon’s Prime Video

I am a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist. I am the CEO and founder of the 501c3 non-profit Artists Rock the MIC Foundation, which provides resources and support to homeless college students.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

There are a lot of things you can do to grow your clientele, but here are a few things that have worked well for me:

Be consistent. The more music you share your gifts and talents, the more people will hear or see you and the more likely they will become fans.
Connect with your fans on social media. Social media is a great way to connect with your fans and build relationships with them. Share your work, your thoughts, and your life with your fans, and they’ll be more likely to support you.
Perform live shows. For me, Live shows are a great way to connect with your fans in person and to build a following. When you perform live, you have the opportunity to showcase your talent and to connect with your fans on a personal level. Same with my Films, having your film premiere in film festivals and screenings. Helps to get your projects out there.
Partner with other artists and brands. Partnering with other artists and brands is a great way to get your music in front of a new audience. When you partner with someone, you’re essentially cross-promoting each other’s work.
Don’t give up. Building a clientele takes time and effort, but it’s definitely possible. If you’re passionate about your music or whatever your talent/gifts are and you’re willing to put in the work, you can achieve your goals.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

In 2019, I suffered a devastating setback. I tore my meniscus, ACL, and dislocated my shoulder. This left me unable to tour overseas, which was a major part of my livelihood as a singer.

I was literally out of commission for a year. I had to do physical therapy 3 times a week, I had to walk with a walker for 3 months, and I had to use a cane for 2 months. Worst of all, no work meant no money was coming in. As an artist, you don’t get paid for sick leave.

So, not able to tour and sing, I began discovering my other talents. I had always wanted to write a film, and I had written a play before that had 6 national recording artists in it. But writing a film is completely different. I funded everything out of pocket, wrote, directed, executive produced, starred in, and of course put my own music in my film. I had a cast of 34 and 15 crew, and I paid them all.

I literally dove right in, even though people told me to just sell my script since this was uncharted territory. I’m so glad I didn’t listen to the naysayers.

I produced my film, had a successful premiere at a major movie theater, and it was a sold out event. I bought the biggest room and did it on what they call a prime night. It was star-studded and literally like a movie. This was followed by 6 distribution offers, and now my film, a romantic comedy entitled Finding the Perfect Guy is now available on Amazon’s Prime Video and on Tubi.

This experience taught me a lot about resilience. I learned that I am stronger than I thought I was. I learned that I can overcome any obstacle if I set my mind to it. And I learned that I can achieve my dreams if I don’t give up.

I hope that my story inspires you to never give up on your dreams. No matter how hard things get, don’t give up. Keep pushing forward, and eventually you will achieve your goals.

I could have easily given up at this point. After all, I had worked hard to build my career, and now it was all in jeopardy. But I’m a fighter. I refused to let this setback stop me.

Instead, I decided to focus on my other strengths and “Finding the Perfect,” was born.
