We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brytwauna Tang a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brytwauna, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
Nipsey Hussle, also known as Ermias Asghedom, is seen by me as hero for several reasons:
Entrepreneurship and Business: Apart from his music career, Nipsey Hussle was a successful entrepreneur who established multiple businesses. He aimed to inspire others and promote the importance of economic independence and financial literacy, particularly within marginalized communities. This inspired me to keep pushing forward by educating my community and business owners. Have you heard the saying nothing guaranteed, but death and taxes. So what’s better than to be that face of the industry of taxes as the entire world has to be educated onte topic.
Philanthropy: Nipsey Hussle was involved in various philanthropic endeavors. He generously donated to charitable causes, such as providing resources and support to organizations addressing issues like homelessness, education, and mental health. This is one of main goals of The Whole Ceo which I am a business coach. It is important to note that achieving a sense of wholeness is a lifelong journey, and what makes a person feel whole can vary from one individual to another. As a Whole CEO coach I strive to make one whole not through just taxes but as a whole, mind, body, and soul. We’re really therapist at times.
Inspirational Music: Nipsey Hussle’s music often highlighted themes of resilience, self-improvement, and overcoming adversity. Many people found solace in his lyrics, which encouraged them to pursue their dreams, work hard, and strive for positive change in their lives.
Nipsey Hussle’s impact on his community and the inspiration has provided me to make him a hero. I definitely appreciate him leaving his legacy as a blueprint.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
I’ve always been a hustler. Selling things on eBay, selling bootlegs, buying clearance. I’m the go too.
A side hustle often starts with a passion or skill that someone enjoys and can monetize. It could be a hobby, creative talent, or expertise in a particular area.
My story is not that. I hated taxes. I actually fell upon doing as I was laid off from two jobs that I had. Someone offered me a job at a new tax office if I took a Tax class I took a tax class. One office went to multiple offices for many years. I finally found the confidence to branch out all myself, and brand my own name .
All my life I wanted to know where “Tang” really originated from. Imagine that being your name and people asking and you can’t answer . No it’s not a nickname! I got one story about my grandfather coming over on a boat being born on the waters of Taiwan which was great but beyond that no real depth to my bloodline on my fathers side . I met him once☝️🏽 in my lifetime before he passed on. It’s an entire amazing Tang dynasty setup at the cemetery but who is who. On my mothers side it almost a family secret but as I grew up we didn’t speak too much about my grandmas past as she came from poverty. Her story is truly the women who grew from the Rose that grew from the concrete. They Dont speak of her past traumas, which I respect, but I do know some of her legacy of being the first black woman to hold a title at the Vfw women’s auxiliary. But still confusion of my heritage. Your a Chinese, Irish, Indian , black woman with no explanation. Back then heritage wasn’t really talked about or cared about should I say. This might be a black folks thing who knows
Since Bob Marley was my husband in my past lifeI could truly relate to his story of trying to belong. He said his father side never truly excepted him and his mother side couldn’t get over his color, so he never knew the true heritage of the Marley name so he began to build his own legacy and building the Marley name with him.
Seeking that part of my soul. This message always speaks to me. I still seek that part of me but have learn to create my own name. My own legacy. My own Dynasty. Hence how Tangmade was born. Self made, Tangmade
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
My favorite. Marketing is just being me. I wear a turkish gold chain and a gold grill. I am inspired from the 90, S of the hip hop music and my uncle who wore a big gold Turkish chain. I always wanted one and now wear one and breaking the stigma that gangsters and drug dealers only wear chains. A successful black women can wear chains too.
