We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Bryant Iriele a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Bryant, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?

During my journey, I once developed an idea I was deeply passionate about. What began as a simple concept soon became my mission to turn it into reality. The process demanded countless hours of planning, research, and collaboration. There were times of uncertainty when things didn’t go as planned, but by remaining persistent, seeking guidance through prayer, and adapting my approach, I could transform that idea into a reality.

This experience taught me the power of combining vision with action and faith. It reinforced the importance of staying committed to my goals, even when the path isn’t clear, and highlighted how adaptability and prayer play crucial roles in achieving long-term success.

Success requires vision, persistence, adaptability, and faith. Success starts with a clear vision of what you want to achieve. This vision is your guiding principle, helping you navigate challenges while staying focused on your goals.

However, vision alone isn’t enough. Persistence is crucial. There will be obstructions, lapses, and moments of doubt. A lot of determination is needed to keep going, even when things get tough. The goal is to view challenges not as obstacles but as opportunities to uncover new ways to succeed.

Adaptability is essential. As the world continuously evolves, the ability to adjust both current and future strategies is crucial. Gaining new skills, even those that may seem unnecessary is invaluable because no knowledge goes to waste. Moreover, flexibility is vital; it lets you see life’s experiences from new angles while staying relevant in an ever-changing world.

Faith, continuous prayer, and thanksgiving have been vital to my journey. My faith gives me the strength to keep moving forward, even when the path ahead is unclear. I mention this last because there are times when I exhaust every strategy I know, yet nothing seems to work. I find peace and clarity when I step back and allow God to lead. It’s as if the solution appears almost immediately.

I believe it’s essential to have faith in God first, followed by trust in yourself, your ideas, and your team. Only then can God fully step in and guide you. God teaches us to love one another, and though we may create our plans, His way is always the best. Ultimately, only God can bring us the glory and success we deserve.

When God answers my prayers, I thank Him for relieving my worries and providing a solution. I keep praying for protection over my future. I also take quiet moments to reflect, assess my progress, learn from my experiences, and prepare for what lies ahead.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

For Lykosgonna, one of the most important lessons I had to unlearn was that perfection is the only route to success. In the early stages of building the brand, I was under the impression that every product, every design, and every decision needed to be flawless. However, this mindset created immense pressure and significantly hindered progress. I hesitated and overanalyzed because I didn’t want to make mistakes.

The turning point came during the launch of a collection, which I delayed because I believed it was not yet “perfect.” Despite the improvements, I soon realized that this relentless pursuit of perfection impeded the brand’s growth. After seeking guidance from mentors and fellow creatives, I understood that imperfection can catalyze innovation and progress. Since then, I have embraced the idea that learning, and improving iteratively is far more beneficial than waiting for an unattainable standard of perfection.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
