Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bryanna Belgrod. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Bryanna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
We believe that our level of success is directly proportionate to the way we show up every day. Not just for our clients, but for each member of our team, and the quality of the work as a whole.
We are so blessed to truly love what we do and do it well — having a passion for what you do is what makes it all worthwhile. I truly don’t believe that being successful in business is possible without this. It’s a lot of work — you have to love it on the great days AND the hard days, or you’ll burn out and give up.
As important as it is to find something you’re great at and strive for excellence, it’s also important to remain teachable — to keep learning, growing, and innovating in your field and improving upon old systems while you implement new. My dad had been in business over 50 years when he passed, and up until the end would always tell me how much more there was to learn!!
Another thing is discipline! You have to be able to prioritize your time, and make every moment count. Especially being parents to small children, while running your OTHER baby (your business) — it’s crucial to have excellent time management skills so that you’re able to do what you say you’re gonna do! It’s incredible how just showing up on time and doing the job you’ve been paid to do is such a rare find nowadays — people take notice of this and are thrilled to have found us.
You have to be able to work with people. From your employees to your business partners, from your clients to your competitors, each of these are unique relationships. It’s truly important to realize that the world of business and sales has very little to do with the actual product you’re selling, and more about the relationships you have with the people you’re surrounded by. Knowing how to manage, work with, and serve the PERSON is the secret sauce that will set you apart.
We always strive to be vertically integrated, to carry our company mission from the top down and make sure that every project, from the full-scale whole-home bottomless budget to the one-room or one-piece micro projects are given the same level of care and attention to detail. For us, above all else, it’s integrity — Staying true to ourselves and loyal to our clients is absolutely paramount.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

We proudly stand as a family-owned and operated business with a legacy that spans back three generations. My family has a history of drapery workrooms dating all the way back to the 1960’s! I carry with me every day the determined spirit of my father and the creative ingenuity of my mother — I say it all the time, but truly, everything I am I owe to them. The window treatment business runs on my husband’s side as well! The son of a seasoned window treatment veteran with over 40 years running a blind business, Brian draws daily inspiration from his dad who serves as a mentor to both of us and a prime example of unparalleled hard work and commitment.
The craziest part is that we didn’t even meet while we were working! Brian and I met through a friend and when we discovered we both worked and grew up in the same business, we were both shocked. It truly is the coolest thing to have that in common, and we figured what better way to honor our parents’ legacies than to start our own business. It was fate!
It’s been such an incredible journey and combining our unique skillsets and expertise has made us unstoppable. We are so grateful to have developed such a following. We like to think that we embody the spirit of a new era in custom window treatments and upholstery, combining timeless craftsmanship with modern creativity and innovation. With unwavering integrity and excellence in our field, we are so blessed to have such a team of beyond talented people that share our deep love for this industry. It’s this perfect combination of Blind Stitch magic that makes all the difference.
Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?
When my husband and I started our business, we had some savings but we were definitely nervous to bite the bullet and take off on our own! Eventually we decided the time was right and just took the plunge and never looked back, threw 5k into a brand new business checking account and went off and sold our first job!! We worked out of our house for a long time with no overhead, saved as much as we could along the way, and within that first year we were able to procure our first van and the building we have now.
My mom retired from her drapery workroom out in Las Vegas around that time and passed on all the sewing machines that she no longer had use for. We flew out to Vegas, loaded up a massive Penske truck, and brought all the machines and equipment down to Florida. It was such an awesome way to carry out her legacy, and we truly believe that those machines are good luck!! It’s given our shop a rich family history that you can feel when you walk in. We are so grateful for all of the ways that she helped us to get setup in the beginning, her support has always been so special to us.
Honestly, those days of driving around with my husband installing our own jobs are some of my favorite memories. Just the two of us with a garage full of product from floor to ceiling and a dream that shined through in everything we did — It was a lot of fun, we learned so much, and built up a network of referrals and happy clients. Things were definitely simpler back then!!
Then we just kept going, hired help as we needed it, and we were able to build something pretty incredible. Now looking around at our crew of 13 and a business that is bursting at the seams, we truly couldn’t feel more blessed for where this journey has taken us. Sometimes I have moments while walking around my shop thinking to myself, “How is it possible that this is our life?”
I think that when you’re truly doing what you’re meant to be doing, the universe has a way of providing. Sell one job, finish it, and you got enough to sell another! It takes a certain level of courage to jump out into the unknown like that, but for us it’s paid off! My only regret is not doing it sooner, but to be honest the timing was perfect — I have to believe that it all happened exactly as it needed to. :)
Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.
We manufacture all of our drapery and custom furniture and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Our team of skilled artisans are truly the best — That said, being that we do totally custom work, we are constantly solving problems, planning ahead, engineering, innovating, and coming up with creative ways to improve on old systems. I love that we never do the same thing twice. I think that’s what separates us from the competition is that we are always looking for ways to make our finished product better and we’re not afraid to break the mold in our industry. Again, you have to love it. In order to pour your heart and soul into the creative process, be willing to make the inevitable mistakes, but grow as a team and learn from them, and refine your processes and your craft — all of this is a lot of work, but worth every moment!!
