We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bryan Tann. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bryan below.
Hi Bryan, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
I want to be remembered as a man that had so many big dreams that even though nothing has ended quite as I’ve wanted, I have been successful in my own right. I never gave up.
I hope that I inspire someone to follow their dreams and be successful.

Bryan, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
As an independent author, I have had to learn the hard way what success is.
When I finished my first novel I thought I had written the next great American work and that money would be flowing. I thought publishers and agents would be lining up for me!
I learned that wasn’t the case. I’ve had three publishers and now I publish independently. Of the three, only one truly did right by me. And I mean that they kept every promise, and really went to work on my behalf. It broke my heart when they closed.
The others, not so much. One even lied about getting copies of my books to put into stores.
I learned that I had to be my own boss. Do my own thing. Of all the people in the world, less than 0.5% will do what they say they’re going to do and have your best interest at heart.
As of this interview I have five pieces of me out there for the world to experience. Two urban fantasy novels, two sci fi novels, and an erotic crime thriller. These are pieces of me.
The best part of being a writer is that I can tell these stories however often or not I want. And one day, hopefully, someone will choose to give my stories a try, and hopefully I’ll live forever in their imagination. That is the pride and hope I have.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Kindra Sowder and I met while we were each working on an anthology series. We began to talk and were friendly. I then read her book the Harvested, I had only had two books out at this time. I was brand new and wasn’t sure I would write another book! But the Harvested inspired me.
So I pitched her the idea of a spinoff. Luckily she said yes and the rest is history. That’s how I wrote the John Baker Chronicles.

Have you ever had to pivot?
My entire adult existence has been a pivot in one way or another!
I went from singing in bands, to getting my Associates Degree and becoming a Corrections Officer, to earning my BA in Communication with a Minor in Creative Writing and became a Digital Marketing Assistant.
I then earned an MBA and ended up selling cars! Now I’m going for another Masters!
