We recently connected with Bryan SilverbaX and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Bryan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been one of the most interesting investments you’ve made – and did you win or lose? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best investment I ever made as an artist was knowledge. I did everything I could to gather as much information as I could. With the internet there really is no excuse for not gaining knowledge on your creative goals. I have watch over 1000 hours of YouTube videos and tortillas of people doing what I wanted to do. Whenever I had a question I just searched different words until I found some videos that addresses the topic. I watched several of those videos and form my own idea about how I should use the information and then BOOM on to the next topic. The internet and emailing have made gathering information so easy. You just have to have to discipline to stay on task. Knowing that you always have room for more information on your craft is wonderful and investing in knowledge, and yourself, is never a bad idea.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been artist my whole life but in 2013 I really jumped into graphic t-shirt designing, that led me to doing fandom conventions, that led to doing comic book fan art, that led me to doing professional cover art, that led to me creating comic books, that led to me being nominated for comic book cover artist of the year for 2023. I skipped a lot of stuff there but that is the path for the illustrator that I am. Also around 2023 I started doing watercolor painting and even some acting. I just love being creative. I have been fortunate enough to do some doing cool things and meet, and work with, people I could never have imaged. I have stories.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I am a bit older and never fully bought into the idea of NFTs. I just couldn’t make it make sense in my brain so I did very little in that market. I figured by the time I figured out what I would have liked to do the bubble would have popped was my thought. I’m happy for those that made a little coin but I just did not understand the concept.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal was always to do and be better than I was last time. Of course I wanted to work on major brands and IPs that the world is familiar with. I also never wanted to loose track of Bryan and what I was about, so I was always sharing and helping others on their creative journeys. I am driven now but the idea of helping.
