We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Bryan Hill. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Bryan below.
Alright, Bryan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you walk us through some of the key steps that allowed you move beyond an idea and actually launch?
I have been making films since 2012. My mom bought my first camera as a gift for me at a young age. The very next year I got a laptop. I started filming videos of myself doing poetry. After a while I decided it was time to meet more people in my city. I started doing open mics to broaden my perspective. I took a few years finishing a novel I started writing in high school. I titled it “The Broken World” and self published using a company in Denver, colorado. After finishing my book I wanted to make it a movie. Unfortunately I had never filmed a full feature film before so I decided to write one. I didn’t want my first film to be my book because I wanted experience first. After writing the film I started a casting call for my movie titled “cogitation”. After finishing filming and editing my first horror movie I also had a premiere for family, friends and cast. I decided it was time to do another one. I learned a lot and I knew the energy involved was amazing for everyone. After writing, filming and editing my second movie “Inclination” I decided it was time to dedicate filmmaking as a life long purpose for myself. I fell in love with every aspect of filmmaking. I just knew it was something that encompassed all of my talents and it made sense to why I started. Now I’m 10 plus films Invested and I am still learning daily as well as loving every minute of it.

Bryan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
As an independent filmmaker I produce films. I am most proud about my ability to connect with people on a genuine level. I also cast my projects from Arkansas to Georgia and Texas. I have been successful at building trust with those I work with. I am very dedicated to completing any project I start. As a filmmaker my responsibility is to create something thought provoking and entertaining. I love the ability to create and having the opportunity to live my life through creativity.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
Ultimately bridging the gap between creators and producers. Those who can provide the start-up funds and those who can execute a business plan. For creatives we tend to focus on the creations. Most lack the ability to effectively connect with someone who believes in your ideas and invest in the process of bringing those ideas to life. Our goal is to be a company consistently finding new creatives and introducing them to our world of creation. The goal is allow everyone to be themselves and thrive in love of the art.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
There has been many obstacles to overcome on this journey. Working with my business partner Lisa mayers on the feature film “pressure” taught us both tough lessons as film producers. The struggles made us work harder and smarter. We overcame the obstacles with teamwork and consistency.
