Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Bryan Cruz. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Bryan, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Project HOPE was born in my heart during a time of my life where I felt that something had to be done with the staggering numbers of children not attending school in Latin America. Knowing first hand the challenges that children face in Latin America to get a free education, I chose to take it upon myself and try to make a difference.
Just like when I was a young boy growing up in Honduras, there are thousands of children today who arrive at their schools without eating and without the necessary resources for their education. The problem of malnutrition due to lack of food affects their academic performance, and the lack of resources or school supplies necessary to be able to go to public schools are the daily problems of many children in Honduras and in several countries in Latin America.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
After making the decision to take a leap of faith, I along with friends and family decided to begin Proyecto Hope (Originally name Comedor Infantil Hope) in September of 2017. Our initial task was to support various children in the city of Olanchito, Yoro in Honduras. Our first children’s soup kitchen was installed in the Libertad Public School of said city. Where 50 children were blessed by receiving one lunch per day, and at that time the program only had a budget of $300.00.

A month of our founding the Hope Children’s Soup Kitchen was providing 70 children with a lunch per day during their school day from Monday to Friday at the Olanchito, Yoro location. The project achieved an alliance with a local church in the community called La Cosecha International Ministry, directed by Pastor Nelson Alonso together with a group of young people decided to provide logistical support so that the program could reach more children.

The year 2017 was a year of many challenges and lessons for the entire team of volunteers and donors, but it was also a year in which it was possible to see the scope that a team of people united hand in hand with God can have. It was also a year of victory and many innocent smiles full of hope and a future. In 2018, Proyecto Hope formed for the first time a general directive in Texas under the coverage of Pastor Orlando Hernández and the Roca Eterna Christian Center, a church he pastors, with the purpose of being a missionary ministry focused on bringing hope and help to more children. in other communities and countries of Latin America.
We continue on the mission to continue impacting lives, be part of this dream with your donations.
