We recently connected with Bryan Caviness and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Bryan , thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?

To be honest both my ideas the music business and my lawncare has been done before growing up on the block of morningside west of i35 in fort Worth Texas
After a while I had to give up that street life and put it behind me so I left in 2017 moved out to Waco where my mom’s was staying about 3 months later I’m out there in open fields watching the sun go down then it hit me I grabbed a pen and a pad started writing lyrics again but the music wasn’t enough I had to pay bills so I decided after 5 years of music I’ma take a break then I just started cutting my own lawn next thing you know Im cutting lawns for any body

My music brand is Tx Trill
My lawncare brand is BD Pristine Lawns
Ultimately no matter what hat I have on
Either music or the lawncare at the end of the day I’m just like you a hustler the difference now from before is it’s legal
What I’m most proud of is that I’m still breathing and not locked up
It took a lot to get here I ain’t turning back

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Consistency and holding myself to a higher standard it’s all in the name BD Pristine Lawns through customer service having to speak to every customer as if they where my grand folks always yes sir no mam no matter what and treating the customers yard as if it where my grand folks that’s what has always been the strategy

Any advice for managing a team?

The advice I will give to any supervisors or managers of any business starting out or has been in the game for a long time is remember that if you don’t respect your team members than your team members won’t respect you if your just looking for a paycheck than that is what your team members will do if you don’t continue to put in work than your team members will slack off remember that everyone has a family and if you treat your team members like family than they will treat you the same if you treat them as animals well they will either run away or attack
