We were lucky to catch up with Bruna Roman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Bruna, thanks for joining us today. Earning a full time living from one’s creative career can be incredibly difficult. Have you been able to do so and if so, can you share some of the key parts of your journey and any important advice or lessons that might help creatives who haven’t been able to yet?
Yes, after working on my business as a side job for three months, I was able to build my clientele and quit my 9-5 job as a Dental Chair-side/surgical assistant and go full-time social media manager. This change happened after working as a Dental Chair-side/surgical assistant for six years, which was my passion for all those years; I loved everything about that career. Still, I was ready for a change, and the pandemic made it easier for me to start exploring different options. Since I was also a local influencer and had a networking community called WPalmBeachBloggers(which began in 2018) for local influencers and business owners, I thought why not stay in that field but towards the social media side because we couldn’t run any more networking events as our last event was in 2020 for the International Woman’s Day. After that, the world went into shutdown mode, and I had a lot of free time to learn about social media management, build my brand and presence on Instagram, and start cold-reaching my ideal clients. So on September 3rd of 2021, I quit my job and went into full-time social media manager with my brand ConnectionPB the Hub. I’m very grateful to have a supportive husband who was there for me and pushed me to build my business and friends who were so helpful with tips and recommendations to get my business up and running. I’m proud of how everything went and wouldn’t change it, I have learned a lot with this experience, and I strive to keep learning and evolving.

Bruna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My goal with my services is to help my clients share a clear message about who they’re, what they do, and who they serve, as: Social Media Management Full Service; Brand Identity, Strategy, Content Creation, Graphic Creation, and Organic Engagement.
I offer different Social Media Management packages depending on what I’ll recommend based on their goals and expectations.
– Social Media Consultation can be helpful for individuals looking for guidance or need a push in the right direction, with strategy, ideas, learning about their needs to stay relevant, and more.
– On Brand Content Coordinator, based on your brand identity and strategy, I’ll direct a photo shoot to create content for your brand, business, products, and services.
I’m happiest when clients follow my direction, and we can work as a team while staying in communication. Also, the results speak for themselves.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Instagram it’s my best resource, together with word of mouth. That’s why I advocate for businesses to invest their efforts in social media. If done right and consistently, the results are excellent.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I stay active in the community and maintain a connection with my followers. I think it’s essential to create a connection and conversation and relate to them. I like to share informative and educational content, which seems to be very appreciated, as well as co-working at local coffee shops and soon getting back to plan networking events for business owners, entrepreneurs, and freelancers.
