We were lucky to catch up with Brooklyn Jones recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brooklyn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
The idea of a business, like any other, begins in your thoughts. My photography business began as an idle dream which I turned into a reality. I understood exactly what I wanted to achieve before it became a reality. When I saw the dream, it was just an affirmation that what I wanted was going to for sure happen. My recommendation to anyone who wants to start a business would seek confirmation from god before doing anything, especially if you are concerned that it would not work out.
Brooklyn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
BkVisualz is a one of a kind photography brand. I design lifestyle editorial photography and bring them to life in your head. I recently relocated to Atlanta in August 2023 to pursue my photography aspirations and build my business to its full potential. I believe what distinguishes me from other photographers is that I prioritize, my clients over anything else. My clients are my best friends who help me grow, and without them I am nothing. I do my best to impress them with my work to the best of my ability. I make certain that I provide the highest quality and quantity in order to leave the lasting impression on my clients.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
If you’re wondering how to establish a business, it may be simpler than you think. You’ll want to start with a good idea, just like any other successful business. You can then create a product or service that needs a consumer need. Funding a business is not easy, but it what keeps your company from failing. When it comes to funding anything for my business its an asset, I always think of spending anything as an investment for me to continue expanding and making sure my business is successful.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Growing your clients will always be your most difficult challenge when beginning a business. I started photography in college to make networking easier. I went to every event and just started asking people if I could snap their photo, and they would let me. They would also follow me on Instagram to see more of my work, and I’m grateful for even one new follower. Networking was and continues to be my finest method of acquiring clients and establishing relationships in order to create more beautiful art. Social media has helped me so much simply by reposting and tagging, the best part of posting on social media is one post may cause you to bigger then you were in just one day.
