Brooke, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
I feel so grateful and acknowledge the privilege I have to be a successful business owner often. When I reflect on the experience I gained over all the years leading up to me becoming an entrepreneur full time, I do not regret any of it, but I also would never want to go back to it. Although I work every single day, I am working towards my own dreams instead of providing my time, energy, and unique abilities to someone else’s dream. My soul would honestly feel very crushed if I ever had to let go of my business against my own will and return to working for another company. My business is my pride and joy!

Brooke, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I created the concept of May the Quartz Be with You all the way back in 2013. It started off as simply being a place where I could share my insights and all that I was learning in regards to holistic health and healing. Almost a decade later and this brand has blossomed into a full blown metaphysical gift shop. I mainly offer crystals, essential oils, card decks, books and other unique finds. I also provide services such as card readings, astrology sessions, and energy healing. I have an extensive background in studying the field of metaphysics and carry both a crystal healing certification and a degree in metaphysical sciences from The University of Metaphysics. I am always continuing my education and expanding my own consciousness to provide more tools and wisdom to my community.
Through our weekly live sales on Instagram we have cultivated a really beautiful community online I call my “Crystal Squad.” These relationships translate offline as well and have been so nourishing, especially during these last couple years when so many of us felt very isolated. I look forward to creating experiences and spaces for all of us to connect more in person!
How did you build your audience on social media?
Although I don’t have a massive following in comparison to major influencer accounts, what I do have is incredible audience loyalty and engagement. I have created such a tight-knit community through showing up consistently and creating a very clear brand message. Whenever I do share online it is with great intention. I provide a lot of value to my audience through either showing up for live weekly complimentary card readings, sharing information and answering questions during my live sales, and posting daily on my stories to build more of an intimate connection with everyone in those “in-between” moments of life / business.
When people feel like they really get to know you, it is easily translatable into better engagement because most of the time, they want to cheer you on and be a part of the process. I give a lot of space for my audience to feel seen and heard because that is very much a part of our basic human needs. I remind myself often that these are real people on the other side of their devices that I have the honor to connect with and I do my best to make them feel special in my life.
Whenever the day comes that I have a post or reel go viral, I’ll be ready to handle it because of the foundations and boundaries I have around my social media management.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Being that a portion of my business is through e-commerce, I was able to discover ways to create an exceptional loyalty program that is built into my online shop. Everyone enjoys free or discounted things, but I also really love to give. This one facet is a really simple way to provide value to your loyal customers. Furthermore, for those of my customers who shop with me on my Instagram live sales, I provide mini giveaways at the start of every live sale as a thank you for showing up on time and creating space in their busy schedule to be with me. I then also have a really fun VIP giveaway the final live sale of every month called Wheel of Crystals. Any of my customers who make a couple purchases within the last 30 days qualifies to have their name on the wheel and we have such a blast spinning for a variety of prizes and free shipping credits.
In terms of how I keep in touch with my clients, I post daily on social media (mainly Instagram at the present time,) and I send out a newsletter at the start of every month. I am also planning to launch my own podcast in the very near future which has been a long time coming!
