We were lucky to catch up with Brooke Patton recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brooke thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
My journey beautifully illustrates the transformative power of embracing risk, especially when it intersects with the deeply personal realm of creativity and artistic expression. It’s a testament to how stepping out of my comfort zone, even if that step felt more like a leap into the unknown, catalyzed growth in unexpected and profoundly enriching ways.
The dichotomy I’ve experienced between identifying as an artist and grappling with the identity of a businessperson is a common narrative. Like many creatives, I struggled with this balance, fearing that the latter might somehow dilute my artistic integrity. However, my experience underscores an essential truth: these identities can not only coexist but can also enhance and empower each other.
Building a business around my art isn’t just about commercial success; it’s about extending the reach of my creative voice to new audiences, connecting with people on a global scale, and creating opportunities for engagement that weren’t previously possible. It’s about leveraging tools and platforms to amplify my message and vision in ways that resonate across diverse demographics.
My partnership with Newulife, the Hormone Health Company serves as a pivotal chapter in my story, where I discovered that the skills needed to thrive in business could be learned and mastered over time, rather than being innate traits one is simply born with. This realization is empowering not just for me but for anyone who hears my story. The skills of communication, social media navigation, audience building, and network expansion are indeed learnable, and they can significantly compress the timeline from obscurity to recognition.
Moreover, my journey highlights a crucial aspect of personal growth: the integration of professional ambitions with personal life goals. The ability to spend quality time with my child while pursuing a career that fulfills me creatively and financially is an aspiration many share but few feel they can realistically achieve. My narrative offers hope and inspiration that such balance is attainable.
In essence, my story is one of courage—the courage to confront self-doubt, to challenge the traditional boundaries between ‘artist’ and ‘entrepreneur,’ and to embrace risk as a vehicle for growth. It’s a reminder that our biggest limitations often lie in the narratives we tell ourselves about what we can or cannot do.
As I continue on this path, I remember that every risk taken is an opportunity for growth. My willingness to explore beyond the familiar has already brought me this far; I can only imagine how much further it can take me. I keep dancing to the beat of my own drum; it’s leading me in remarkable directions and bringing me to my ultimate goal of Life Balanced.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Brooke Patton, and I reside in the vibrant Austin, TX area. As a creative soul who embarked on the transformative journey of motherhood at 41, I found this pivotal moment to be the true beginning of my maturation into adulthood. It ignited a profound desire to improve myself and create a better life for my child and family.
Throughout my life, I often felt as though I was hiding behind others and my artistic pursuits, unable to fully embrace my own terms due to a persistent fear of failure. However, the responsibilities and joys of motherhood served as the catalyst for my growth, inspiring me to actively shape my life according to my vision.
My aspirations are deeply rooted in the pursuit of freedom, joy, peace, and stability. I have a strong longing for a supportive community and am passionate about giving back in meaningful ways. Stories of overcoming adversity and triumph particularly inspire me. I strive to be an example, continually growing in self-worth and purpose, and offering inspiration to those who are still searching for their own strength and calling.
My journey into the hormone health industry began with a passion for understanding the intricate connections between our bodies and well-being. As an artist and stay-at-home mom, I explored ways to balance my creative pursuits with family responsibilities. This quest led me to the world of hormone health, where I discovered a profound intersection between science and holistic wellness.
At 47, I discovered direct sales, seeking joy and stability while maintaining my passion for creativity. Partnering with the Hormone Health Company has been transformative. This company specializes in products designed to support hormone balance, offering solutions that range from dietary supplements to lifestyle programs.
My foray into this industry wasn’t just about finding a new career path; it was about embracing a mission to serve others. Helping others achieve balance in their lives has become a driving force behind my work. Whether through one-on-one consultations or broader community outreach, I am dedicated to sharing knowledge and empowering others.
Being a stay-at-home mom and a creative, I understand the unique challenges of balancing personal and professional aspirations. My commitment to the process and reputation as the “Consistency Queen” set me apart. I believe in building a lasting foundation for my clients and my own family, allowing me to keep creating art, stay present in my son’s life, and grow personally and professionally.
Discipline in business is essential. Consistency, showing up every day, and committing to the process, even when daunting, allowed me to build momentum. Surrounding myself with a community of positive, like-minded individuals who pushed me to grow and provided invaluable support was crucial.
I embraced the mantra “done is better than perfect” and put my perfectionism down. It’s the action steps that catapult us into growth. As I took those steps and became brave enough to create and connect, I found that we can truly have something magnificent.
I offer products and services focused on hormone health, leadership development, and creative expression. Balancing life through hormone health, I help people build leadership skills and bring light into their lives through my art. With hard work and consistency, you can build something fantastic.
The problems I solve revolve around fostering a community that encourages personal growth and resilience, helping people find joy, and providing real solutions to everyday health concerns. What sets me apart is my full commitment to growth, both personally and for others. I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone, spoken on stages, and walked through fear to demonstrate that finding joy, self-worth, and self-confidence is possible.
When I embrace self-confidence, speak from my heart, and paint driven by passion and inspiration rather than for a paycheck, I create my best work. Doing any kind of work isn’t fulfilling if it’s all about finances; I need to paint from my heart and lead with a servant’s heart. This authenticity fuels my success and inspires others to pursue their true passions, enhancing their self-confidence, vitality, and seizing opportunities to live a balanced lifestyle.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Resilience is a skill that develops over time through practice. It’s not always easy at the beginning, but as we face and overcome obstacles in life, resilience becomes stronger. In my own experience as a creative involved in network marketing, resilience has played a significant role. Many people stick to traditional ways of making money and doing things, so choosing a different path can invite judgment. As artists or individuals in non-traditional industries, it’s important to follow our passion and show others that success can be achieved through alternative paths.
This industry is constantly evolving, requiring us to pivot and adapt to changes. The process of continual growth and learning is essential, as it helps us become better individuals and allows us to mentor and lead others. Personally, I have experienced the need for resilience when I had to overcome my fear of public speaking. Despite the initial challenges, I pushed myself to speak at a female panel convention after just one year in the business. Over time, saying yes to opportunities for growth has become easier, and I now eagerly look forward to embracing new challenges with bravery and resilience.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Life is a series of pivots, a continuous cycle of leveling up. Just when a child masters one phase of growing up, they face a new challenge, prompting yet another pivot. In business, we’re perpetually adapting, learning new techniques, skills, and systems. As an artist, I often find myself dissatisfied with my work, seeking perfection before it’s ready. This dissatisfaction forces me to step back and pivot again, letting go of perfectionism to push through. Constantly pivoting becomes a practice, making the process smoother and quicker, and preparing us for the next level.
One of the most pivotal moments in my life was entering motherhood. Becoming a mother compelled me to view life differently and embrace the responsibilities of caring for another human being. This experience allowed me to grow into adulthood, become a dedicated caregiver, and make thoughtful choices, demonstrating my values through my actions.
Motherhood also inspired me to take my art career more seriously. I remember painting a giraffe for my son’s nursery, which marked a significant shift in my artistic style. I transitioned from oil to acrylic, seeking something more colorful and bold. For the past nine years, I have continued creating vibrant pieces of art. Three years ago, I decided to start a business to further my personal and professional growth, enabling me to stay home with my child while pursuing my passion for art and painting.
Some of the most memorable times in my life have been during these pivotal moments—from graduating college with a fashion degree, moving to New York, returning to Texas, giving birth to my son, starting a steady career in painting, to launching a network marketing business. Each pivot happens faster and feels less jolting to the soul as we go. It becomes a smoother process, whether it’s people leaving the company, stopping the use of products, or neglecting self-care. Constantly pivoting helps us get back on track and ready for whatever comes next.
