We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brooke-lynn Awesome a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brooke-Lynn, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
My mission is to show people my age and younger that you can do whatever you want to do in this life, you just have to work towards it. Life is about experience and learning it shouldn’t be you slaving half your day away to pay bills & I feel like the older generation gave up because there’s no way they are okay with the way the world works today ! My ultimate goal is to quit my 9-5 to be a Barber & Fashion model and show others that they can chase their dreams also !
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Brooke-Lynn Awesome yes legally that is my name, and I am a Mobile Barber & a Fashion Brand Ambassador. I provide my clients a high end, professional haircut service in their home where they not only receive a crispy haircut but a hot towel massage, a ear & nose trim, eyebrow cleanup, styling if needed & a great conversation lol. My goal is to give my clients the best haircut service they’ve ever had all while in the comfort of their home. I also model clothes on instagram where I’m building a supporter base so I can soon partner up with brands to sale their clothing because I just love fashion & dressing up !
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
While building dependable clientele is hard and takes time, I find that word of mouth is the best way even though we have social media because people trust who they are close to.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
the most rewarding aspect of being an artist (barber) is seeing how happy my clients is with my work. It never fails !
