We recently connected with Brooke Gary and have shared our conversation below.
Brooke, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
This year makes 10 years that I’ve been living in the great state of Texas and also 10 years of working in the Plastic surgery field as a nurse. I’m originally from Louisiana, born and raised between New Iberia and Franklin. I graduated from nursing school as an LVN in Louisiana as well in December 2012. At the time my kids were very young at the ages of 1 and 3 years old. I passed my Boards exam in January and immediately started looking for a job in Houston and surrounding areas in hopes of giving my kids and myself a better chance in life. I landed my first job in plastic surgery with a physician in Webster, Texas. I moved here with two small children, less than $300 in my bank account, and lots of prayers. The first few years were very tough, many nights I cried and contemplated moving home while some nights I didn’t eat so my kids could. Fast forward to my next job with a physician in Sugarland in Cosmetic surgery, he gave me the opportunity and educational skills to start my journey as an Aesthetic nurse Injector. Today, I can proudly say I’ve been an Aesthetic Injector Nurse for 7 years now, and I have no plans to move back to Louisiana. I can also say I’ve built a wonderful life for my kids and myself, and we are thriving!!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am an Aesthetic Nurse Injector in the Houston area. I have the pleasure of enhancing someone’s naturally beautiful features and also just helping people feel good about themselves. I love forming a bond or relationship with my patients! I enjoy being personable with patients. I offer many services like Neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport), Dermal Fillers (lip and cheek injections), PRP, Lasers, and micro-needling. I understand each patient is different, as well as their wants with my services. Each patient gets their own treatment plan. I take pride in enhancing a patient’s features so they still look like themselves just more youthful or enhanced.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
I think word-of-mouth referrals are top tier for growing clientele in the local and surrounding areas. If a patient is happy they will talk about what they’ve done, continue to remain a client, and refer often to you. The next best strategy would be IG to capture more of a wide range of clients and definitely outside the local area. Instagram is a great way to showcase before and after results.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
In this field, you need to be a great listener as well as a communicator. Always listen to the patient’s wants, as well as thoroughly explain everything to a patient.
Another thing is always being willing to learn. This is a constantly growing and changing field, and you can never know too much.
