Brooke, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.
One of my favorite success stories is working with a female client in her mid-30s. I spend a lot of time getting to know my clients at the beginning of the matchmaking process to help determine compatibility with a potential match. After speaking with her and some of her closest friends and relatives, I was able to gain valuable insight into her personality, lifestyle, values, and how she is perceived by others.
As a healthcare provider, she had a demanding job and after work she enjoyed engaging in adventurous and creative activities. She also loved to spend time with her family and volunteer in her community. I knew that it would be important to find someone who would bring balance to her life and placed similar importance on family, giving back, and exploration.
Since she spent most of her day focused on patient care, I wanted to match her with someone who would bring out her creative side. I came across a professional musician who had toured the world and reached out to him. After my conversation with him, I learned that in addition to his musical talent, he also built his life around serving the community and placed high value on being there for his family and friends. I immediately knew that they would make a great pair because of their shared values and compatible interests. I imagined her getting off work and them having a jam session with her singing and him playing his instrument.
When I presented their profiles to each other, they both quickly agreed that they would be interested in connecting. I set up the first meetup, which was only supposed to last for 45 minutes, and it lasted over two hours! They vibed immediately and have been inseparable ever since. She shares how happy they are, how well they get along, and their plans for the future. A few months ago, I cried tears of joy after she shared photos of them getting their first place together. Match made!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I am a certified professional matchmaker and the Founder & CEO of Mosaic Matchmaking. After marrying the love of my life in 2016, I realized that I have a passion for helping singles pursue intentional relationships. I’ve been on a mission to help others find real love ever since!
While I’ve been married for over five years now, I still have vivid memories of how frustrating it was to find a life partner, especially as a professional of color. In my “single season”, I tried numerous dating apps and spent countless hours scrolling through profiles. It was an endless loop of matching, messaging back and forth, and trying to determine if they were looking for love or if they were just playing games.
After hearing one too many dating horror stories from my single friends, I started thinking about how I could make their experience in finding love better. I discovered that many of them weren’t familiar with matchmaking as an option to find love. However, all of them said they would be interested in giving it a try as an alternative to online dating. I founded Mosaic Matchmaking because I saw that people of color were underrepresented in the dating services industry. My business provides matchmaking that is catered to professionals of color and promotes long-term relationships and marriage. I also provide one-on-one date coaching, which is a great option for people that want to polish their dating skills or want guidance on how to navigate the dating scene.
When I am matching potential partners, I think about the lessons learned from my own dating journey. I also use the recruiting and relationship building skills I have acquired from my professional roles with Fortune 100 companies and startups. In addition, I leverage the best practices I gained from my certification program through the Matchmaking Institute. These experiences provided me with invaluable skills that I use every day.
Mosaic Matchmaking’s competitive edge is tailoring services for professionals of color and promoting intentional dating. I am committed to gaining a deep understanding of my clients, including interviewing their friends and family. My goal is helping them identify what they need in a partner and providing a great experience to help them find long-lasting love. I see Mosaic as an alternative to online dating or dating apps where my clients are intentional daters, not recreational/casual daters.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Many of the people I work with are first-time matchmaking clients who hear about Mosaic through social media or online research. I love talking with people about what I do and helping them understand the matchmaking process. I also get referrals from other matchmakers across the country. In addition, some people want to play cupid for their friends by connecting them to me so I can help them find love.
However, the best source of clients is word of mouth referrals from my previous or current clients. Because my clients have gone through the matchmaking process firsthand, they share their experience with their friends.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I have regular touchpoints with my clients during the onboarding and matching process. Even after my clients find their match, I stay in touch to see how things are progressing. To foster brand loyalty, I employ a social media manager that helps create content and posts on our social media pages. To drive traffic to the website, we include a link to the site in all marketing and articles and have ensured my website is search engine optimized (SEO). I also engage content creators to write SEO-friendly blog articles that we post on the website.
I leverage word of mouth advertising through my network of current and former clients. I also engage with strategic partners that share my same target market to increase brand awareness and generate new leads from co-sponsored events. Last but not least, my husband and I wear our Mosaic Matchmaking shirts when we go out and I’ve had several people share that they saw us and that’s why they reached out to learn more.
