We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brolin Rochelle a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Brolin thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Any advice for creating a more inclusive workplace?
One of the things that I sincerely enjoy is creating an inclusive space for small business entrepreneurs. During this journey I’ve created monthly Markets that allow small businesses to come out showcase their products, network with clients face to face and other business owners. I truly believe in building relationships and I always want to create a Vibe for them. I want then to feel like their at the there own small boutique and doing what they truly love.
Brolin, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am BrolinRochelle the brand owner and CEO of The BrolinRochelle Brand. I am a mother of two. I enjoy traveling, trying new foods laughing, living life unapologetically and family and friends. In 2021 I attended a conference and there were two speakers that really woke something up in me that inspired me to pursue my dreams of being an entrepreneur. Both ladies spoke encouraging words that gave me the push I needed to step out on faith and start my brand. Vaneese’s words on being BOLD, provided me the confidence I needed to accept myself flaws and all. I struggled with self-confidence, but she showed me that despite how the world may look at me, how I view myself is most important. I was able to continue my connection with Angelia after the conference and she provided me with insight on how to move forward on my business ventures. She told me it was ok for me to start my business “scared” and for that she will always hold a special place to me and my brand.
In 2022, I walked into the same conference a new business owner selling handmade earrings that caught the attention of none other than Brely Evans (Actress, Producer/ Director, Keynote Speaker). That day she purchased a pair of earrings from me, and upon my return from the conference I created an earring based on her vibe. Brely is fashionable, unique, real and the true definition of a Goal Friend.
Today, my business has grown in a successful way and I am grateful for the support from my customers across the country. I have so many more projects in store and I can’t wait to showcase them I am truly blessed and grateful to the gifts that God has given me.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I truly think my genuine spirit and just being true to my brand and believing in it helped my reputation. I also genuinely want other business owners to he successful so like I previously mentioned I created a space just for that and getting to network and getting to know others gives you the opportunity to gain trust and them getting to know who you are and what you represent.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I’ll try to answer this question lol I’ve learned a lot in these past few years in the entrepreneur world. It’s definitely important to take a break from your brand so you aren’t overwhelmed no matter what. I’ve learned to continue to remain consistent In your purpose. I’ve also learned thar building relationships is so important because you never know who you will be seated next to. I’m glad that the mistakes I’ve made have been teachable moments and so of course that’s growth for myself and my business. If your teachable that’s a plus. Taking authentic advice from other entrepreneurs is also good if it comes from a genuine place.
