We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brock Laramee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brock, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
We started with humble beginnings. Young Entrepreneurs of America, LLC was founded to solve a problem. And that problem is that Entrepreneurship can be lonely. We knew there had to be a better way than doing business alone. And that’s when we set out to build community and eventually memberships to bring people together. But let’s get down to the nitty-gritty. In order for this to go from a hobby to a business, we had to create an offer. But not just any offer, something that made money. So we added up all our costs. And baked in a healthy margin. Did our market research. And made sure the market could bear the price. Anyway, what this also took was generating a process to develop leads. And a sales process to convert those leads. In addition to driving revenue, we like to look at the big picture of our organizational structure and ask ourselves: “are we factoring everything in here? I know we are doing most of these roles today, but are we priced so we could hire someone for these roles in the future?” That question allows us to know what’s missing in the picture, that way we can create a business that stands on its own two feet. That was it can be sustainable. We skipped some of your question here but essentially it took an offer, leads, and a sales process. The rest develops over time,

Brock, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Sure. I’m Brock Laramee. I grew up in South Florida. I’ve always been interested in business. I got around the right people and eventually started an entrepreneur community. This is like a mastermind. People pay a fee in order to access our curriculum, content, community, events, and more. We sell a package for people to join. The problem we solve is that most information out there is low quality. We bring in the biggest 8-9 figure business leaders, so they can teach us how to do things. We also solve the problem of loneliness. Entrepreneurship can be isolating, but not anymore. YEA — our community — allows people to congregate with like minded individuals both digitally and in person at events.
What makes us different is our target demo. Our culture. And our focus on Main Street businesses. We’re not tech start ups or venture capital funded unicorns. We help the little guy.
We are most proud of our community. And the people that choose to be members. We would like others to know that we are working hard to generate and ultimately distill and disseminate the world best business tips. Our aim is to accelerate the results of young entrepreneurs and reduce the number of errors these new owners make.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Sure. The best way to grow on social media is to approach it in a multi-tactical way. In other words, it’s not one thing. It’s several things. That includes collabing with others in your space, direct messaging potential prospects, producing and publishing high quality content, and more. People want a one size fits all answer. But it’s not that easy. It’s a combination of things that when produced together, the result can be signficant.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Hmm, sure. We’ve been at it for almost three years. And it wasn’t always that our list was large or events highly attended. No. Far from the case. Our events have been attended by as little as two people. And one of those being me. In other words, staying consistent when it wasn’t easy. Or when there was no “logical reason why” to keep going. It just felt right. That’s our resilience story. We simply kept on pushing despite having only one of two guests at events.
