We recently connected with Brock DuPont and have shared our conversation below.
Brock, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
One of the biggest ways my business diverges from the industry standard is through flexibility. Many photographers have a set style, package, or price point, but I take a different approach—I come alongside businesses of all sizes with one goal: to help them succeed. That means being adaptable, whether in style, pricing, or the services I offer.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I work closely with each client to understand their vision and bring it to life through photography. Whether it’s a high-end hotel needing a polished, luxurious aesthetic or a small boutique looking for something fresh and approachable, I adjust to fit their needs.
Recently, I’ve taken that same philosophy into a new space by offering social media management. I realized that many businesses don’t just need great photos—they need help sharing them effectively. So now, I’m expanding my services to help clients not only create beautiful imagery but also leverage it for maximum impact. It’s been both exciting and challenging, but ultimately, it’s about meeting my clients where they are and giving them exactly what they need to grow.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into photography almost by accident—out of necessity rather than intention. Almost 10 years ago, I was helping run an event company with my brother and sister-in-law. We wanted to capture the events we were throwing, so we bought a company camera, and I instantly fell in love. I took one class to learn the basics, but beyond that, I’m completely self-taught. From there, I said yes to just about any gig that came my way—yoga studios, coffee shops, you name it. I wanted to learn, grow, and see where this passion could take me.
Everything changed for me during COVID. Photography had always been a side hustle, but then I was offered a role at a design agency, helping with client experience and photography for their clients. For the first time, I was able to do what I loved full-time. That’s also when I started honing in on the food and beverage industry, realizing how much I enjoyed capturing the atmosphere, personality, and craft behind hospitality brands.
After freelancing for a few years, I saw a job posting for a small social media agency working with restaurants and hotels. I applied, got the job, and moved to Dallas in August 2023. That company has since closed, but it launched me into a new market and opened the door for something even bigger—my own agency.
Better Days Marketing is a social media and content creation agency specializing in the hospitality industry. We believe your restaurant, bar, or hotel should look as inviting and incredible online as it does in real life. Through photography, videography, and strategic social media management, we help businesses create an online presence that truly reflects their brand and drives engagement.
What sets us apart is our flexibility and social first mindset. We don’t offer cookie-cutter solutions—we tailor everything to the unique needs of each business. Whether it’s high-end hotels, cozy neighborhood restaurants, or craft cocktail bars, our goal is to bring their vision to life in a way that resonates with their audience.
More than anything, I’m proud that I get to do work that I love while helping businesses thrive. Better Days Marketing isn’t just about content—it’s about storytelling, community, and making sure great businesses get the recognition they deserve.

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.
Yes, my side hustle eventually became my full-time business, but it took years of saying “yes” to opportunities, learning through experience, and adapting to new challenges.
It all started almost a decade ago when I was helping run an event company with my brother and sister-in-law. We wanted to capture the events we were throwing, so we bought a company camera. That’s when I fell in love with photography. I took one class to learn the basics, but beyond that, I’m completely self-taught. At first, it was just something I did on the side—I took on any photography gig that came my way, from yoga studios to coffee shops, just to gain experience and build a portfolio.
The biggest turning point came during COVID. Up until then, photography was still a side hustle, something I enjoyed but never saw as a full-time career. Then, I was offered a role at a design agency where I handled client experience and photography for their clients. That was the first time I had the opportunity to do what I loved as my main job, and it was also when I really started to focus on the food and beverage industry. I realized how much I enjoyed capturing the atmosphere, personality, and craftsmanship behind hospitality brands.
After freelancing for a few years, I saw a job posting at a small social media agency specializing in restaurants and hotels. I applied, got the job, and moved to Dallas in August 2023. While that company eventually closed, it ended up being the push I needed to go out on my own. Instead of looking for another job, I took the leap and launched Better Days Marketing, a social media and content creation agency focused on helping hospitality brands elevate their online presence.
Some of the key milestones along the way:
Buying that first camera while working in events—it sparked everything.
Saying “yes” to any opportunity early on, which helped me build experience and confidence.
Getting my first full-time photography role at a design agency, proving I could do this as a career.
Moving to Dallas in 2023 and entering a whole new market.
Launching Better Days Marketing, which has allowed me to not only take photos but also help businesses grow their brands through social media strategy.
Now, I get to combine my passion for photography with marketing, offering a full-service approach to helping restaurants, bars, and hotels showcase what makes them unique. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’m excited to see where it goes next!

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
One of the most foundational resources that has significantly impacted my management and entrepreneurial thinking is Simon Sinek’s Start with Why. This book has shaped not only my personal philosophy but also how I approach helping clients. It emphasizes the importance of understanding and communicating the deeper purpose behind what we do, which I believe is essential for both leadership and building meaningful connections with others. The book makes you think about the why before anything else. Focusing on the why—whether it’s the reason behind what I do or why someone should choose to eat at my client’s restaurant—helps me establish a ‘north star’ that I can always come back to for clarity and direction.
