Brittnione , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, let’s imagine that you were advising someone who wanted to start something similar to you and they asked you what you would do differently in the startup-process knowing what you know now. How would you respond?

If I were to start over today, one of the biggest things I would do differently is to include God in my plans from the very beginning. I’ve learned that when you align your goals with a higher purpose, it gives you clarity and guidance that can help avoid unnecessary detours and setbacks. I also now understand that great things don’t happen overnight—patience and faith are key. Everyone’s journey is different, and it’s important to respect the process. Had I embraced this mindset from the start, I believe I could have avoided many of the losses and challenges I faced along the way. By trusting the process and having faith that everything happens in its own time, I would have navigated my entrepreneurial path with more peace and confidence.

I’m the CEO of Gleniece Skin, a skincare company dedicated to helping individuals address a range of skin concerns, including acne, hyperpigmentation, eczema, dry skin, and other conditions. As we approach our 4th year in business, I’m incredibly proud of the journey we’ve been on and the impact we’ve made in the lives of our customers.

My passion for skincare began as I matured into a young woman. Like many, I struggled with acne and dark marks, which became a significant source of insecurity for me. This personal experience fueled my desire to create products that not only work but also empower others to feel confident in their own skin.

What sets Gleniece Skin apart in the industry is our commitment to quality and results. We formulate our products with high-quality, natural ingredients that are designed to be both gentle and effective. Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

As an entrepreneur, I’ve encountered numerous challenges that have required me to demonstrate resilience. One of the most recent and significant experiences was participating in the Essence Festival. The preparation for this event tested my faith in ways that ultimately strengthened my relationship with God.

During this pivotal moment in my business journey, my husband—who is one of my greatest supporters and most reliable helpers—was away on military duty. This left me facing the event with limited help and resources, and at times, it felt like nothing was going as planned. Despite these challenges, I held onto the belief that God would not bring me to a situation only to leave or forsake me.

Overcoming fear and uncertainty, I leaned on my faith and persevered. This experience not only tested my resilience but also deepened my understanding that with faith, I can navigate any challenge that comes my way.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

One significant lesson I had to unlearn is that support from those closest to me would always be guaranteed. While the support of family and friends is important, I’ve discovered that, as I continue on this journey, sometimes it’s the strangers who show up for you first. I’ve also realized that not everyone is meant to accompany you on your path—God gave me the vision, not anyone else.

There have been moments in my journey where family didn’t show up for me in the way I expected. It was difficult to accept at first, but I’ve learned that this is part of the process. Understanding that everyone has their own path, and that my vision is uniquely mine, has been a crucial lesson in staying focused and moving forward, even when the support I anticipated wasn’t there.
