We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Brittni Miller. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Brittni below.
Hi Brittni, thanks for joining us today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
So, I actually purchased Magnificent Moments Weddings from Amanda Allsbrook in 2024. She hired me after a working interview in 2016 as an assistant. As I learned more about weddings and the logistics of planning a wedding, I got certified and started working as a lead planner later in 2016. We grew into a team of 4 and work about 40-50 weddings a year as a company. In 2020, Amanda made me Director of Operations and I took over a lot of the day to day logistics, learning a lot about how to run a business. In 2024, I purchased Magnificent Moments Weddings officially! I knew it would be a good investment because I have a passion for helping others and really enjoy getting to know all the different people we work with along the way. While it is really fun to design weddings, I really love the relationships we make along the way. Each couple we work with has a different story, we love to learn about them! We have good processes in place and have learned what works best for us as a company.

Brittni, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’ve been a wedding planning for almost 10 years now. I have worked many different types of events, various cultural weddings – Jewish, Hindu, Pakistani, Chinese, elegant venue weddings, beautiful backyard weddings, couples planning from out of state. We’ve done a wide scope of weddings and have loved learning different traditions throughout each one! We offer packages from Coordination, Partial Planning, Wedding Design & Full Service Wedding Planning. I find that we all have our own personal strengths, but as a team we are really great at advocating for our clients and their wants/needs. If you come with a new idea, we will help you find a way to execute!
As you’re planning a wedding, there will always be curveballs along the way that might redirect the plan, but we always adjust and guide you back to your wedding goals! Being a team of multiple planners, we have the opportunity to add extra comfort on wedding weekends, knowing we have a back up planner at all times in the case that an emergency arrives. Thankfully, we’ve never had to enact this, but it’s a good security blanket.
Our main goal is to take the stress of wedding planning off your shoulders but never out of your hands. We are here for you and will advocate for you to execute your wedding vision!

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
Wedding planning was my side hustle and I worked full time at a restaurant – serving and managing. I knew I didn’t plan to be in the restaurant industry forever, but leaving that easy and fast cash was always scary. When the pandemic started and there were so many unknowns everywhere, I decided to stay home with my toddler instead of continuing childcare outside of our home. That presented an opportunity to go full time into wedding planning, as we were rescheduling and rerouting planning for 40+ weddings that year. I became Director of Operations and learned a lot about running MMW, leading into the purchase of the business.

How do you keep your team’s morale high?
The best advice I have for managing a team is documentation! Have your team document their work and client meetings, document when they update the planning portals or send vendor emails, document your own communication with your team, document when things go really well or when they might not go so well, document when you have to have tough conversations with clients or team members. Document it all. There will be a time when you need to reference back to different situations and without documentation, it’s hard to keep that credible. I learned this the hard way, as I didn’t document so well in the beginning.
