We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Brittney Williams a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Brittney, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear from you about what you think Corporate America gets wrong in your industry and why it matters.
Corporate America tends to get wrong/fall short on when it comes to Creatives, their lack of shedding light on them within these companies, their ideas, voices, compensation and overall recognition. Which is a prime example and major reason as to why I developed The Creative Juices Group and The Creative Juices Group – Studio.
I spent a few years within the corporate world working at various Marketing/Advertising & PR agencies before finally taking my leap of faith to pursue entrepreneurship and do Marketing and Creativity MY WAY. During my time within those agencies, I found that at some of them Creatives don’t get a lot of credit where it is due. There are so many amazing and talented creatives out in the world, and many are within a corporate setting developing and producing countless pieces of content, art, projects, ideas, etc. That you either see daily, has become your favorite brand or popular trend. Yet those same creatives feel like they are just another number within those walls and their opinions are not valued or ultimately heard.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I am the CEO/Founder of The Creative Juices Group, The Creative Juices Group – Studio and Brittney Williams Marketing Consulting.
I have always had a love for creativity, and it definitely has grown in so many ways over the years. After obtaining my Business and Marketing degrees from the University of North Texas. I spent a few years in the corporate world managing and working at various Marketing, Advertising, and PR agencies within the DFW area. Before starting my entrepreneurial journey and beginning my own Marketing Consulting business.
A few years ago, I had the desire and vision to create a women’s community organization for fellow Black Female Creatives and #Creativepreneurs to shine light on their work, Services and Provide resources & tools to better help them personally and professionally. In addition to developing fun and creative networking events and monthly meetups to have those much-needed creative conversations within the industry and build a real community for female creatives to utilize as a go-to for business and personal growth. While staying inspired to help keep those Creative Juices flowing.
Which has now led to The Creative Juices Group – Studio an extension of the TCJG brand. A co-ed Creative Space & Photography Studio for fellow creatives to take their creativity and businesses to the next level! Enjoy: Co-working, Networking, Utilize the Photography Studio (and take advantage of our amazing in-house team of professional photographers, videographers and visual artists), Podcasting, Workshops or book our space for your next intimate style event/creative event.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Being authentic and remaining transparent about my journey has definitely helped me build my reputation within my market. Along with providing valuable and relatable content to my target audience. I listen to them and connect with them to build an organic community.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I always knew going into business for myself would bring some challenges that I would have to push through. Every day is a learning experience. Starting a business is not easy and I’ve been through a lot on my journey thus far over the years. My real challenges started well before I began my first business. In my freshman year in college, I lost my dad, who was one of my biggest supporters and best friends. Losing him really put me in a position at that time I didn’t know how to come out of. And this year I ended up losing my mother, who was another huge supporter of mines and my favorite person. Although, losing your parents is something you never fully get over, it has for sure made me even stronger over the year(s) and more resilient to certain obstacles I have incurred thus far with entrepreneurship.
Some of which were getting a handle on my work-life balance, learning to say no to things and certain people that deemed as not a good fit for business, continuing to push through when things seem to fall apart and really just knowing my worth, remembering my WHY and remaining confident through my entrepreneurial journey. I am a strong believer that everyone is destined for success. We all were given special gifts and talents, and it’s important that we not give up on our dreams just because things appear to be difficult or not going the way we intended them to. I love encouraging and motivating other entrepreneurs on this very note because you will be tested but know that God has your back and you were already designed to receive the success you dream of, regardless of any challenge that may come your way.
