We were lucky to catch up with Brittney Reynolds recently and have shared our conversation below.
Brittney, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What’s the best or worst investment you’ve made (either in terms of time or money)? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)
The best investment I’ve ever made, was in myself and in my craft as a tattoo artist. I’ve always been an artist, just never pursued my art in a professional form until I did and now I own a business, have a career, a professional license no one can take from me or fire me from, and the means to set my child’s future up and a legacy to pass on.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I am a tattoo artist and business owner in a not-so-small-anymore town called Clarksville, TN. I am the product of two marines whom were stationed and retired here at Ft. Campbell, KY.. I have lived here for 16 years now and have been a tattoo artist for 6. Although I have been an artist since I was a child, I graduated from college as a basic EMT. Slowly finding my calling throughout the years by meeting other tattoo artists, I left the medical field to pursue my tattoo career. I created a platform for myself called Inked Behavior as a way to capture my progression virtually. I also used this platform to create my brand, share my art, and eventually my merchandise. It was a huge leap of faith considering I had a newborn, and was a new mom in a very demanding apprenticeship. I worked very long hours and sacrificed a lot of time away from my daughter. With a lot of heartache and discipline, I completed an apprenticeship and started my professional journey. Flash forward to June of 2023, I finally ventured into the business management world and brought Inked Behavior to life as a tattoo studio. I’ve successfully been open a year and a half and I couldn’t be more proud of myself. I’m now an appointment based private tattoo studio dedicated to providing an amazing experience catered to my clients without an audience! Although I do not claim just one specialty, I offer multiple styles both black and grey and color, including large scale freehand work, coverups, and full color floral illustrative realism!

How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
Support local small businesses and local artists. Get involved with a local art collective. Stop relying on AI or mainstream generic art to decorate your homes and businesses. You’re supporting real lives when you support locally.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Art brings people together in the same way music does. It’s contagious, beautiful, and influential. I have been so blessed with the ability to bring people together through my artwork. I believe the most rewarding aspect of my career is the lifelong relationships I’ve created.
